A Better Life VS Political Image
There are many things similar and different from the film A Better Life and the political image included on the essay 3 description. Some of the interesting similarities are that they both portray illegal immigrants assumedly from Mexico, they both wanted a better life for them and their friends and family and they both attempted to obtain that by utilizing illegal options. There’s many similarities between the Political image and A Better Life.
The first similarity is that they are both illegal immigrants. In A Better Life, Carlos, Luis, and the others are all illegal immigrants from Mexico. The image of the man included is obviously an illegal immigrant and is probably (based on appearance) from Mexico or another Spanish country. Illegal immigrants are definitely perceived differently from different people. A lot of American citizens seem to have a problem with illegal immigrants being in our country, as they believe that they take jobs that were meant for Americans, and they are worried that they are also taking benefits such as social security and assistance in medical insurance and other things, where some American’s don’t really have an opinion on illegal immigrants. In the move A Better Life, the fact that the boys were illegal immigrants was important, because instead of being eligible for a loan for the truck and tools that they wanted to purchase for their business, they had to borrow money from friends and family.
In the political image you see the illegal immigrant holding up a sign and is appearing in a mug shot, next to the mug shot is the statement that Reid, the man in the photo, was arrested because he voted for illegal immigrants to have social security benefits. I’m assuming since he appears to also be an illegal immigrant that he was arrested once someone realized he had voted, when he had no actual right to vote. He...

Within the last few decades the world has become more educated then ever. The information we now have on medicine and general knowledge is helping people live longer and healthier lives. Many people seek the fountain of youth, but little do they know it is all about what they eat and how they exercise that prolongslife. Modern science shows us simple steps in everyday life could quite possibly lead to a healthier and longer life. By utilizing both good nutritional habits and exercise can improve ones life.
Nutrition is the relationship of foods to the health of the human body. Proper nutrition means that the body is receiving enough foods and supplements to function at optimal capacity. It is important to remember that no single nutrient or activity can maintain optimal health and well-being, although it has been proven that some nutrients are more important than others. All nutrients are necessary in different amounts along with exercise to maintain proper health. Exercise is also an important part of nutrition. Exercises help tone and maintain muscle tissue and ensure that the body's organs stay in good condition. Healthy eating without exercise will not result in good nutrition and a healthy body - neither will exercise without...

Culture and opportunities abound
I understand the other side, but as a younger person, I find living near an urban center to be invaluable. Crime is rarely anything to worry about. The main reason is that in the search to find oneself, there are a plethora of opportunities in cities. You can walk down one block and experience so much culture, a bunch of different people's opinions, and be exposed to every type of art and interest. Being around such diversity makes most people relatively open-minded.

For most people, yes.
It is hard to say whether a particular style of living is better for any single person. But the historic evidence is clear that for the growth and expansion of civilization, urban centers are where ideas are exchanged, where most education and research happens, and where artistic and creative pursuits thrive the most. It is also where more people, proportionally, rise out of poverty compared to rural areas, which is exactly why Chinese gravitate toward their cities and away from the countryside. One has more opportunity. From an environment standpoint, cities are also denser and surprisingly better suited to deal with global warming.

...achieve ultimate happiness. So, what are the differences between being married and being
single? The three most popular arguments between a married life and a single life are freedom, social
life and finance.
Let’s start with the first difference: freedom, since it is the first thing you give up when you
marry to someone. Coming along with marriage is responsibilities, it means that you have to take care of
your partner, your children, you cannot just decide to do anything on your own anymore. You can’t take
off and do anything you want anymore, because most of your time will be dedicated to your family. So,
whenever you want to go out with your friends, you need to ask your partner for permission. Things are
different when you are single. When you are single, you have full control over your life, you are not
bound to any responsibility but your own. If you need to take a break from the stress from your work,
you can just take off by yourself. When you want to go out with your friends, you don’t need to ask
anyone’s permissions. In contrast, you have busy life taking care of you parent and your children, and
you don’t get enough time to go out and enjoy yourself.
If you’re married, you don’t have to worry about your social life. It won’t be a hassle if you
decide to go out or need...
...The first theme that I think is apparent is the search for a betterlife. Conditions in the rural Philippines are hard for the peasants. There is hardship and exploitation. The peasant children have no childhood because they are working in the fields or in the market or home with the parents at an early age. The boys leave their parents' home in their early teens to find work and a betterlife, trying to escape the harsh and hopeless environment. Their families know and expect this. Carlos' mother tells him several times that he can go and that they are poor. They go from menial job to menial job trying to make out a living. The parents can't give them a betterlife in a farming environment and the parents and children know this.
As a result of the transfer of the Philippines to the United States, there is free public education if the student's family can afford to pay the student's travel and living expenses. The children all want to attend school but their families cannot afford it. Many peasant families work hard to send at least one son to high school. Carlos' father has to sell his land so that Macario can finish high school with the hope that he will return, work and make their lives better.
There is social agitation in the rural Philippines as apparent by the peasant revolts. The United States, to the peasants, means equality. Equality is something they don't have in...
...Life is full of problems.
The more you solve them, the more new ones come up.
And you can sweep problems under the carpet or run away from them.
Wherever you go, sooner or later there will be problems for you to solve.
Since this is a fact of life, you may as well develop some skills on how to handle problems in life.
Here are some insights on how to deal with problems in life so that you may achieve success and happiness.
One of the best ways to handle problems is to have the right attitude towards them.
Sometimes problems may be blessings in disguise.
Problems may be a way that existence is trying to assist us to create opportunities for us to grow and become better human beings.
Problems can hide opportunities not only for personal growth but also to create wealth and success.
For every problem, there should be a solution.
Whenever you encounter any problem that has no solution, you may well understand that it is not a problem to begin with.
Problems are also the first step in a new invention.
Dr. Scholl's foot medications would not be around if people had not had problems with corns, calluses and other ailments.
We wouldn't have automobiles today if people had not had problems getting from place to place quickly.
Every single invention was created because people had problems with something, so problems can really be motivational!
Problems also help you to meet new friends. If you are...
A BetterLife For The Mentally Ill
John Henry Ruffin II
A BetterLife for the Mentally Ill
Mentally ill individuals in America are forced to endure numerous forms of abuse and do not receive the proper care they require and deserve. In the past, the “insane” members of society have been treated horribly by the people that live within their communities. Today, There are many different treatment options available to the mentally ill individuals that require help to live in today’s society. Although there are plenty of treatment options, the individuals still need to have the ability to make choices pertaining to the care that they receive and the type of medical/mental treatments they are given. The facilities and group-homes that house these individuals are not always the safest place for them and should be monitored closer by the families and government. Many changes could be and need to be made to make the American system of mental health treatments better and safer for the individuals receiving services. The type of treatment, both the way the individual is cared for and the types of services he/she receive, needs to be re-evaluated due to the lack of quality caregivers, the ineffectiveness of treatment plans, and the way individuals are abused and neglected by staff members.
A mental disorder is a mental illness or referring to a person with and incomplete/damaged...

Education a Better Way of Life
One question for graduating high school students is to go on to school to further their education and get a degree, or get a job and make money. If they choose to pursue an education, there are different degrees for them to get. For example, associate degree, bachelor degree, or an advanced degree such as a master degree. These choices are difficult for a young adult to make. The benefits of a higher education include: higher salaries, better long term health, children who perform at a higher level and lower divorce rates.
Those with a master’s degree earned almost twice as much over people who have jobs as just a high school graduate. The higher levels of education lead to both higher levels of earnings for individuals. A person with a typical bachelor’s degree can earn about 61 percent more over a 40 year working life than a high school graduate. Studies show that people with a high school degree make $31,500 a year for fulltime year around workers. People with a master’s degree make $61,300 a year fulltime year around workers. The cause of going to school for extra years and earning a more advanced degree will affect how big your salaries will be.
When a high school graduate choose to pursue an education they are more likely to live a healthier life. At every age and income level, higher levels of education are correlated with...

Climbing to a betterlife
There are times in our life when we have to face difficulties and traumas. Sometimes, we experience suffering in such a way that our hopes, life projects and dreams become extinct because our life problems are too difficult and we cannot overcome them by ourselves. Therefore, we need the external help of others and the values that they can project towards us in order to triumph over life obstacles. Through their actions, words, advice and openness to our troubles, they can play a very important role in our lives when they want to help us.
In “Push” Sapphire illustrates the condition of living in Harlem in the 1980’s and especially the suffering of a young girl, Claireece Precious Jones, who experienced sexual harassment at the hands of her own parents which resulted in two children by her father. “He has forgotten he is the Original Man! So he f… me, f… me, beat me, have a chile by me.” (Sapphire 34). Considering the cruelty of the act itself, one can only wonder how could Precious overcome this trauma and did not end up committing suicide or being a dangerous criminal or even worst. Instead Precious overcame her own difficulties and did not take the wrong way. Women as a whole are sometimes taught to be passive and laid-back because...
