Why is college important to me?
I often dream about becoming a successful business owner of my own restaurant “T. C’s Jamaican Restaurant, but to attain this goal I must acquire a college education that teaches me how to become the best manager in that industry. Education is important to me because coming from a family of 8 in Jamaica, I was the only one who went to college and for my brothers and sisters to see that I could reach my goal in life sets a higher standard for them. Another reason it is important is it opens my eyes to see a better future and quality of life for those around me. Seeing that I can help my family in Jamaica, especially my mom out of poverty and not be ashamed of where we lived anymore. My mom was my motivation in life to become the person that I am right now, and to see that I have exceeded that and more, motivates me to push even harder. I hope that I have motivated my daughter to do that same to go after her dreams and never give up like how my mother did for me. A college education helped me to gain the knowledge of the world around me, it showed me how to live a better life and how to become a mature adult who looks and plans towards the future. How to get things done the correct way by following the correct procedures and policies in everything. In Jamaica and in the United States the laws are totally different, so with me attaining my studies in the United States of America, I would have gained the knowledge and the know how to deal with my everyone in the correct and justifiable way. It benefited me all throughout life by showing me that not because you are from a poor country if you put your heart and soul into in you can achieve it. It also showed me how to handle financial problems and how not to be living pay check to pay check every month. Having a solid understanding of how to manage finances is very important too you and everyone around me. To run a successful business you have to know how to manage money for you and...

...Why college education is important to me?
Do you have dreams? Well, I certainly do! I always had dreams of becoming a successful person in life, wealthy, working in a plush corner office, with all the trappings enjoyed by a senior executive! Now, dreams are good, provided we work on them, plan our goals accordingly, work towards those goals in a focused manner, and last but not the least, be passionate, motivated and persistent, in doing all it takes to achieve them. I would like to give below one of my favorite quotes by Mr. Paul J Meyer, which goes as follows. Quote: “Crystallize your goals. Make a plan for achieving them and set yourself a deadline. Then, with supreme confidence, determination and disregard for obstacles and other people's criticisms, carry out your plan.” – Late Paul J Meyer, Founder and owner of Leadership Management International. Unquote. One of the most important goals in my mission to achieve my dreams is to undergo formal college education. In fact, it is one of my most important goals. The ongoing paragraphs shall elucidate my thoughts on this. I shall first start with basic education, and its importance, before moving on to college education, and its importance to me.
Why is basic education so important, first of all? Let us analyze why basic...

“Why college education is important to me”
The purpose of this essay is to promote the importance of a college education and to provide reasons why a college education is important to me. The paper will express personal opinions regarding the importance of a college education. In addition, statistical data will also be incorporated into the essay.
When I was growing up, I was often told that earning a college degree would ensure that I would be able to obtain a better paying job than individuals without a college education. In fact, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the median weekly earnings in 2010 for high school graduates aged 25 and older was $626. While the median for individuals aged 25 and older with bachelor’s degrees was $1,038 (DegreeDirectory.org, What is the importance of Higher Education, 2013). However, money alone was not enough to motivate me to enroll into a University right after high school. I was young and wasn’t ready for a 4 year commitment. Now that I am older and have experienced some of life’s ups and downs, I am more motivated to pursue a college education.
In my opinion, a person needs to achieve certain goals in life before they can call themselves successful, which I want to become. I have set certain goals...
