“Why college education is important to me”
James G. Bilkey, during the famous Dubai Ports world controversy in February 2006 stated that: “you never will be the person you can be if pressure, tension and discipline are taken out of your life.” This statement fits in well on anyone who has the desire to acquire college education. For anyone to accrue the benefits on college education which can be grouped into tangible and intangible benefits, there necessarily must be things like pressure, tension, discipline, etc., on the part of the student in order to succeed. Many people don’t really believe that a college education is necessary to become successful in the world, and that anyone who is truly talented and knows what he wants to do can achieve anything. To be honest, there is nothing wrong in this way of thinking; however, a college education is something that will act as a pivot to keep people rolling. Since ups and downs in the corporate world are unavoidable, there will be times when people will need a backup to get through troubled times. Also, it makes life much easier just to have a college education. All that being said, a college education has its good points and reasons why it is very important.
“Zeal without knowledge is like fire without light”, says Thomas Henry Huxley. One may have the zeal to succeed but without knowledge. Knowledge is the acquisition of experience. Experience itself is good enough for a person to go to college since it plays a big part in the transformation process of a teenager turning into an adult. It is during this time students learn how serious and difficult life can be and how it is important to grow up. Also, experiencing the college life itself is great. The independence, friends, parties, classes, football games, night life, social scene, all of it is something that can be considered a once in a life time experience. It is the starting point of an adult life; it is also the most precious time of a youngster. Of...

“Whycollegeeducation is important to me”
Collegeeducation is important to me because it will create more opportunities with my employer as well as increase my salary. I know some employers put more emphasis on a collegeeducation than others. Unfortunately, collegeeducation isn’t an option for some individuals. I know many people around me that couldn’t go to college due to conflicting obligations or lack of financial support. I am thirty-eight years old and am just now starting college. While I do see an importance for collegeeducation on some career paths, I also see that not all career paths require it.
My current employer now requires a college degree for any of their professional positions. My employment relationship with my company began through a high school co-operative program and, at the time, there was no requirement to possess a degree. Today, my position has been grandfathered in through seniority, but I need a degree for advancement in my career path; therefore, a collegeeducation is very important for me and my family and the advancement of my career. My salary will...
...“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”--Nelson Mandela, July 16 2003
An education is more than going to a college or university to receive a degree. It provides the opportunity to expand our minds to the fullest, to absorb what is around us. It allows us to experience the differences and similarities of our fellow men and women. To me, that is why a collegeeducation is important. It prepares you for the future world in which, at times, can change in an instant.
The quote by Nelson Mandela about education and the power it brings is very important. Education is one thing someone cannot take away. By advancing yourself and obtaining an education allows you not to be ignorant and be manipulated by wrongdoers of this world. In my family that statement is true. I have many family members who did not receive higher education once they graduated high school. Looking back as a child through the years I have witnessed them being taken advantage of due to the lack of education and knowledge of the situation they were in. I promised myself I was not going to be put in that situation of not knowing and being taken advantage of due to the lack of education.
A collegeeducation, in the world today,...

...WhyCollegeEducation is Important to MeCollegeeducation is important because I feel it will allow me to have a successful future in my current career and will provide financial stability for my family. Unlike in the past, today having more than a diploma is required to get a decent job that does not make minimum wage. High school graduates today are unable to obtain the number of high-paying jobs that were once available, and will get passed for an employment oppurtunity rather than an individual who is a new graduate with a college degree.
As a mother I want to provide a better life for my family and to be a good role model for my child. When she was five, I asked her "What do you want to be when you grow up." She said, "I want to work at Wal-Mart." Now if you ask her she says she wants to do hair. I want to show her if that is what she wants to do, after hair school she can go to college and major in buisness and end up owning a salon. Malcom X said "Education is our passport to the future. For tomorrow, belongs to people who prepare for today." In order for her or myself to have a brighter future I need a collegeeducation so that I may aquire a better job, promotion or increase in pay.

Why is collegeimportant to me?
I often dream about becoming a successful business owner of my own restaurant “T. C’s Jamaican Restaurant, but to attain this goal I must acquire a collegeeducation that teaches me how to become the best manager in that industry.
Education is important to me because coming from a family of 8 in Jamaica, I was the only one who went to college and for my brothers and sisters to see that I could reach my goal in life sets a higher standard for them.
Another reason it is important is it opens my eyes to see a better future and quality of life for those around me. Seeing that I can help my family in Jamaica, especially my mom out of poverty and not be ashamed of where we lived anymore. My mom was my motivation in life to become the person that I am right now, and to see that I have exceeded that and more, motivates me to push even harder.
I hope that I have motivated my daughter to do that same to go after her dreams and never give up like how my mother did for me.
A collegeeducation helped me to gain the knowledge of the world around me, it showed me how to live a better life and how to become a mature adult who looks and plans towards the future. How to get...
Whycollegeeducation is important to me
By Coleman Rickels
Collegeeducation is essential to me for my advancement in my career field. It is nessesary for me to aquire a degree in my field to recieve a promotion into a managment position. I have chosen construction managment because I am currently employed in the construstion field as a laborer and would like to advance in that career and become a manager in the same field.
I love construction, I enjoy getting up early in the morning and meeting my crew at our yard. I enjoy the ride to the job site with the people I will be spending my day with. I like conversing with them and learning more about them every day. I enjoy getting to the jobsite, warming up the equipment, and gathering all the tools we will need to complete the days tasks. I enjoy working throughout the day and working with each other to achieve the set goals for the day. I enjoy coming upon a problem and having to put our minds together to overcome it and resume work.
I believe aquiring this degree will open up a new side of the construction field for me. I would like to move into a management position and find new things about the construction field I enjoy doing. As John F. Kenedy said; “Let us think of Education as the means of developing our greatest abilities, because in each of us there is a...
