War on Terror Outline
I. Introduction to War on Terror
1. The War on Terror was initiated by the United States and the United Kingdom after terrorist attacks on both countries. 2. It was started to try to extinguish Al Qaeda and other terrorist groups 3. War on Terror is also known as Operation Enduring Freedom in Iraq and Afghanistan. 4. On December 18th, 2011 troops exited Iraq and began their focus on Afghanistan’s terrorism conflicts. 5. Today, The War in Afghanistan is happening.

II. Judicial Branch
1. The Judicial Branch handles all of the court cases against terrorist that are captured. 2. The terrorist that are awaiting trial are imprisoned in Guantanamo Bay. 3. The Most known War on Terror court case was in Ashton vs. Al Qaeda Islamic Army after the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States. III. Executive Branch

1. The President is in charge of the Military and decides all the moves they make 2. One of the most notable moves made by the Executive Branch was Operation Neptune Spear. Operation Neptune Spear was when the President ordered Seal Team Six to kill or capture terrorist leader Osama Bin Laden 3. The President initiated the War on Terror back in 2001 in response to the terrorist attacks. 4. President Bush was well known for his actions in his eight year term which main consisted of the War on Terror IV. Legislative Branch

1. Congress is responsible for all of the funding that goes into the War on Terror 2. They decide the acts that are made in response to situations regarding the War on Terror 3. Congress has passed four acts in the past ten years to help the countries involved in the War on Terror. 4. Congress played a huge role in 2011 when the conflict in Syria arose. They decided how involved they got in the country. 5. In certain cases congress has power to declare war.
