The Higher Education in Europe and the role of education in people’s lives
The higher education has an important role in society by creating new knowledgements and apply them to the students.
Europe has over 4 thousands higher form learning institutions with over 19 milions students and over 1.5 milions staff. Some of the best universities in the world are found in Europe but they are not exploited to their full potential. Some of the reasons that they are not exploited to their full potential are maybe because they have insufficient funds, or bad management tools or because not many young people attend to an university from various reasons like lack of money or lack of highschool studies.
This is a situation that can be resolved if the public institutions from the states would work together with the universities in creating programs to attract young people to attend a higher form of education by telling them the advantages they could get from it. They can also attract adults to attend an higher form of education. They can find solutions with which they could aid financially more people who want to attend a higher form of education that they already do.
A good step in the right direction was made with the Bologna process which is meant to promote the mobility of the students in Europe by creating learning certificates that can be recognized all over Europe and to ensure a higher quality of teaching. It is a voluntary commitement taken by each country who want to reforme their education sistems. To this process they want to obtain the development of the European dimension of education, to promote cooperation between education institutes and the development of the information exchange regarding the mutual problems of the education sistems in the member states.

The pedagogy of play can be hard to understand and part of the reason for this is it’s so difficult to explain how children learn by play because play isn’t simply; it is complex. Each child begins their early childhood education with a set of skills and prior knowledge that is influenced by their family, culture and past experiences (Fellows &Oakley, 2010). The past knowledge should become the foundation for developing an understanding of scientific concepts (Duschl, Schweingruber & Shouse, 2007). Children are naturally inquisitive, creative and aware of the world around them (Campbell & Jobling, 2012). Play is an important development tool and an effective way to teach children scientific concepts while using their prior knowledge (Preston, Mules, Baker & Frost, 2007). Learning science through play shows children that science is useful and enjoyable and is a significant aspect of the real world (Bulunuz, 2013). The Marriam-Webster online dictionary defines highereducation as “education beyond the secondary level; especially : education provided by a college or university.“ It's no secret to modern students that a highereducation is necessary to advance in their professional life. There is always a cost to advancement and that cost can sometimes create a glass ceiling that is difficult for people in certain social strata to break through. The rising cost of highereducation and its requirement for jobs creates a conflict for people in lower economic brackets. I think that the purpose of education is to get the children ready for real life, and provide them the learning skills, and abilities that they will need.
2. What are schools for? To teach skills and subjects? To encourage personal self-definition? To develop human intelligence? To create patriotic, economically productive citizens?
Schools’ purposes are major in every culture all around the world. In my eyes, schools are to educate the general public, young or old for survival in the next chapter in their life, a degree. They are taught the basic skills and subjects to maneuver on to college, or to start life. After the basics, they are taught more in depth skills and subjects. Schools aren’t good just for that.
