To increase motivation we need to understand the source and consequences of helplessness and identifying situations, in which you can become empowered, assess readiness for change to pursue healthy lifestyle. As Heath’s say “tweaking the environment is about making the right behaviors a little bit easier and wrong behaviors a little bit harder.” (183) In Chip and Dan Heath’s book “switch” “shape the path” in order us to shape the path we have to find the feeling direct the rider and motivate elephant. As human being in our society we face many problems. In order to become motivated we have to relieve some of the stress (bad habits) three issues that hinder our motivation us becoming motivated us human being would be like nail biting, losing weight and, alcohol I will be intertwining three stores then will be giving examples of how we can motivate ourselves.
“Tweak the environment” as Heath’s said “if you change the path you’ll change the behavior.”(185) Due to that my current health problem that I am experiencing is my weight problem. I weight one hundred fifty five pounds. I am unhappy about it and I also cannot afford to buy new pants due to my big size. A lot of the women and a few of the men in my age do suffer from being overweight or obese. Currently I am not obese but I am overweight for my age and height. I am five foot four and my health weight is between one hundred thirty pounds and one hundred forty pounds. Being overweight has affected me by lowering my self-esteem and has pushed me into a weird sort of depression. Being down and depressed is not who I am and not someone I want to be. Making healthy choices now and changing my situation will help me greatly with not only my physical health but also my mental. Today’s many people are not realizing that mental health is just as important physical health. My realistic nutrition plan for me is very simple. Stop eating junk...

Essay: Narrative, Profile, Memoir (Help)
Think about a time when you helped someone or someone else helped you, your family, or someone else you know. Then write a well-developed essay of 500 to 700 words in five paragraphs supporting your portrayal of this experience. This should depict the people involved, the progression of the experience, and the poignancy of it. In other words, it should serve as a whole portrait of the characters, the setting, the conflict or problem, the action that helped to alleviate it, and reactions to the situation as well as to its resolution. Your essay should utilize a few specific details, including at least one anecdote and one direct quotation.
Include an introductory paragraph with a thesis statement, three supporting body paragraphs, and a concluding paragraph. A well-developed support paragraph should consist of about seven to twelve sentences. The introductory and concluding paragraphs could have as few as five sentences. On a warm summer day, I decided to take my children out to eat, just us. We went to Long John Silvers for fish. We walked into the restaurant; I noticed how crowded it was. The children and I placed our order, got it and took it over next to the window, so we could look outside and watch the passer-byers. We said our blessings and started eating, laughing at each other’s jokes and just enjoying the day together.
After 25-30 minutes I heard someone coughing and gagging. My daughter states,” Mommie it’s that man over there he’s turning BLUE!” I told my children to stay in their sits and not to get up. I went over to him and asked,” Are you choking?” He nodded his head yes. His wife was in tears saying, “Please, oh please, help him.” I asked him to open his mouth, so I could see if there was anything I could see, but nothing. I went behind him to start the Heimlich maneuver, I was having trouble getting my arms around him, (he was a very large built man) I continued to try the Heimlich maneuver. I yelled out to the crowd, “Help, someonehelp, call 911!”
Then all of a sudden he passes out. As I was holding him with my body, I lowered him to the floor and stared CPR. I did the abdominal thrust several times, I checked...

...Interview with Someone Different
This paper is a result of an interview with someone who is different from the interviewer in race, age, culture and ethnic background. This paper will discuss the background of the individual as a child and will also discuss crucial issues on how the individual feels with regard to herself, society, her family and to the interviewer.
The individual being interviewed is my friend, Shelley. Shelley is a dynamic, Jewish woman who was born and raised in the Washington Heights section of New York City. She is married to a Jewish man and they have one daughter. Shelley lived in an enormous apartment building with several families from different backgrounds. Everyone was considered middle class income families and was financially stabled. As a child being different was never a factor, she did not believe that her neighbors were different, ethnic or otherwise. No one was ever labeled, just normal.
She lived on the fourth floor with her parents, her older brother and older sister. The residents varied in ethnicity and diversity which included Spanish, Greek, Polish, French, Italians and Americans; no one was a minority. The different religions ranged from Greek Orthodox to Protestant. The superintendent of the building and his family lived there as well, they were African-American. The holidays there were enjoyed by all including Jewish and Christian holidays. Each New Year’s Eve was hosted by the Greek family. The...
...The purpose of my project is to see if gum can really helpyou concentrate. My hypothesis is that it can helpyou concentrate. I chose this project because I wanted to know if gum could really helpyou concentrate. In this project I hope to find out that gum can really helpyou concentrate.
Chewing gum is a sweetened and flavored insoluble plastic material used for chewing. It is one of the world’s most common habits. There are over 372 trillion sticks of gum made each year. People consume over 100,000 tons of gum a year. If we chew gum for 30 minutes then there is 187 billion hours of gum-chewing per year (Natural). The world’s oldest piece of gum is 9,000 years old (Facts).
Gum dates all the way back to the Ancient Greeks, but they weren’t the only ones chewing gum, there were the Mayans, North American Indians, and the early settlers. The Mayans made their gum from chicle. Chicle is milky latex from the sapodilla tree. Ancient Greeks chewed mastiche from a mastic tree. The North American Indians and Early settlers got their gum from the spruce tree. Most of their gum was made from tree sap and beeswax. In 1850 they made a gum from paraffin wax and this exceeded the spruce gum. (Hunter)
The first commercial gum was made and sold in 1848 by John B. Curtis. The first marketed chewing gum, named The State of Maine Pure Spruce Gum, was sold by John. Curtis...
