Path to Citizenship
The Heritage Foundations, Tim Kane, Ph.D., writes “America’s exceptional status as a ‘nation of immigrants’ is being challenged by globalization. The biggest challenge for policy makers is to distinguish illusory immigration from real problem. The supported approach from recent years ‘a policy of benign neglect’ is no longer an option.” Members from the Senate and House of Representatives both recognize this and should be given credit for their efforts to craft this proposed comprehensive law which today, is known as the ‘Amnesty Plan.’ I strongly agree with this ‘Amnesty Plan’ and feel it needs to be pushed through due to its solid pillars. Such as, having undocumented aliens to pay fines, back taxes, and requiring them to understand and abide by the laws of the U.S.. It also addresses border security and identity theft by illegals that use false information to gain employment.
Robert Farley from FactCheck.org clarifies a few misconceptions of the Senates immigration plan ‘Amnesty’ by explaining a few details regarding the concerns in which many have with this “path to citizenship for unauthorized immigrants already here that is, contingent upon securing the border and combating visa overstays.” The use of the term ‘Amnesty’ misleads and can be an emotion-laden term. “If one defines amnesty as dictionary.com does, as ‘an...
...investigating in class is alcohol education in school, so that we can campaign and raise some kind of awareness for alcohol education as a regular lesson in all schools throughout Britain. The reason for this is because we feel and have noticed that young adults in their teen years are drinking regularly on a daily basis and a part of that main reason might actually be the fact that we don't have any real education to teach us about the dangerous effects of alcohol and this leaves them vulnerable when drinking. Robert Pfeifer, founder of the rehab centre Sober College, said,” I’ve seen an increase in risky behaviour in young adults over the last year, I think that alcohol education programs should be introduced ”.
Alcohol abuse is becoming an increasing important topic among teenage school students. Although we try to teach students to not to EVER start drinking and that it's illegal to for a minor to consume alcohol, the reality is that they will be likely to try it before they finish secondary school college. “‘Let’s pay attention”,said Dr. Curry, who is the dean of the College of Public Health at the University of Iowa. “ You may want to take a look at how you are drinking. If it escalates, you’re at risk, but you can change that now. ” I know what most young adults drink for social reasons or because they want to ‘impress’ some people they may know, but they don’t know any of the negative effects that can happen afterwards....
...The ReasonWhy I Went Back To College
Here I was, turning thirty years old and realizing that the main things that I wanted to accomplish were still waiting. I have been waiting to go back to college to work on receiving a degree. (Non-Traditional students struggle with schedules, loans, 2010). There were some things I needed to do to get back to what I wanted. Have you ever felt like you just settle for the way your life is? I have and for that I spent numerous years avoiding an empty spot, wondering what it is I supposed to be doing. I took some time out of my day to see what goals I really wanted to accomplish, and the three main ones are to stop settling, accomplish my goals, and work towards a better career.
I needed to stop settling for the way things were in my life, and the way I was going to do that was by saying,” Enough is enough!” What I had settled for was a job that I do not like. I kept wondering, “When do I go out and obtain that college education that I have always been talking about?” I decided, “Right now.” One day when I was on vacation, I dropped my son off at school, and told myself that today was going to be the day that I go and look into furthering my education. I was driving back home and I thought about Daymar. When I arrived to Daymar I asked myself, “What is it that I want to be when I grow up?” I had settled for working in a factory for eight years, and I am so tried. I decided I always wanted to have...
...Why I deserve a raise?
One of the most important aspects of my life right now is my job. I've accomplished many goals and met standards set by you. I always listened to what you had to say and respected your authority. I've never been late to work; working 5 days a week. No matter how busy we get I've always managed to keep the box in balance and keep my customers satisfied.
When the time comes and there is something new to do, you give me instructions and let me know what to do. Every time I have specific tasks to accomplish, I always make sure that it's something I take care of after my customers. When you tell me to do something specifically, I make sure that I get to it as soon as I have time in my hand. I've never argued with you about any specific tasks you've asked me to do. I made sure that if there were other things to do prior to what you tell me to do; I took care of other things first so the job can be finished correctly. These are some examples to show you that I have always respected your authority at the car wash; I've never doubted your knowledge about things that were going around.
Time management is one of the key factors to this job. I have always made sure that I woke up early enough to get to work on time; I haven't been late for work yet. I am always there 15 minutes early to open up the car wash; that's something I choose to do voluntarily. A lot of the other workers come in late once in a while; I...
...This part of the essay will focus on whycitizenship has become such a significant political issue in the UK. It will highlight what citizenship is, who gets the citizenship and what the problems are that are affecting the country.
Citizenship is about being actively involved in society; it is a clear concept concerning migration and legal status which is formed of having the rights to stay in the country, rights to enter freely and rights to welfare and education.
Citizenship has become a significant political issue in the UK because of the mass majority of people who migrant here from their countries in order to build a life in the UK. The country is getting over populated with immigrants and eastern European people, these individuals are coming to the country and are taking on work which pays less than the minimum wage which can at times deprive citizens getting jobs.
Doing the life in the UK test to qualify for citizenship has proven to be insignificant due to the inconsistency of the questions one ought to study: The report is endorsed by the Revd. Lord Roberts, the Vice-Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Migration quote ‘examining the test and its role in British immigration policy. My report concluded that the test is impractical;I published the first independent and comprehensive report examining the test and its role in British immigration policy. My...
...Define who is an agent and give TWO (2) reasonswhy agents are appointed.
GHL Fridman describes agency as ‘the relationship that exists between persons when one, called the agent, is considered in law to represent the other, called the principal, in such a way as to be able to affect the principal’s legal position in resects of strangers to the relationship by the making of contracts or the disposition of property’.
The Australian High Court in International Harvester Co of Australia Pty Ltd v Carrigan’s Hazeldene Pastoral Co2 defined agency as ‘a word used in law to connote an authority or capacity in one person to create legal relations between a person occupying the position of principal and third parties’.
The law of agency in Malaysia is mainly found in Sections 135 to 191 of the Contract Act 1950. An agency is defined as ‘a person employed to do any act for another or to represent another in dealings with third persons’.
The reasons agents appointed are:
1. Save the time
It helps the principal save the time. Most of the principal are busy on their job and did not have the time to sell their house, car, or lands. Therefore, the principal can appoint the agent help him to meet the customer who are interested and represents him in the transaction. It can help the principal save the time and done the transaction while principal is working.
2. Experience and the knowledge.
The principal want to sell his house...
Summer Reading English 12
By Jay Asher
Jay Asher grew up in California, and has always had a thing for books. Growing up, he worked in several different book stores and libraries. He attended Cuesta college right after he graduated high school, majoring in elementary education. He then transferred to California Polytechnic State University where he left in his senior year. He decided he wanted to pursue a career as a serious writer. Thirteen ReasonsWhy is Jay’s first novel, and it has won several awards. Jay is 34 years old, and has been married for eight years. Asher used a way of telling this story that was easily interpretable for many teens. The style was a two-part narration between two characters, throughout the chapters as opposed to alternating every other chapter. By doing this, it really made you want to keep reading.
The reason I chose this particular book was because it was recommended by my very close friend. We share many interests, so she knew I’d enjoy this novel just as much as she did. The short summary on the inside cover had a way of drawing you in, and I could not wait to start reading. I felt that it deals with a very serious and dangerous issue; it was incredibly compelling.
The author uses an interesting way to make this...
...Hanna’s and Clays dual narrative enhance goes by they tell each point of view in the story because its like he is not talking to anyone but himself and his conscious, it would’ve probably been the same way because that’s probably what most of them thought. If it was Tony he was going to think the same. I don’t think her reasons are of equal importance some people are on the list for playful reasons. The main one I found unexpected was when Bryan walker molested her. I think all thirteen reasons are responsible that’s why they all have tapes and I think she committed suicide to get away from her problems. I think that’s creepy because you visualize her being there and that would creep me out but then you would tend to feel exactly what she felt as she was their so you experience her inside life.
The tape is different from the impression of a suicide note because when you get to hear a voice you know exactly how their feeling. She recorded and left the tapes for the rest to hear them and remember that day for the rest of their lives. Yes because that’s what people use today, tapes are old. When she says that she means that there are other peoples point of view in the story and she tells what happens and what she thinks about it. If she listened to it she probably wouldn’t be dead because they would have discussed about it first.
She thought that if she moved place to place the rumors would be left behind. A rumor...
