Praise be to Allah, who promised his faithful slaves victory and support by saying, "And it was a duty incumbent upon Us to aid those who believed." I bear witness that there is none to worshipped save Allah, One, with no partners. He sent His Messenger Muhammad (s) with guidance and the religion of Truth to cause it to prevail over all religions even though the unbelievers may detest it." and I bear witness that our Master, Prophet, and Beloved Muhammad (s) is the Messenger of Allah, He is the Imam of the Pious, the Master of the Messengers and the Mercy to the worlds.
All praises and salutations of my Lord are upon you, my Master, Messenger of Allah and upon your Family and Companions, and those who are guided by the light of your sunnah until the Day of Judgment.
O Nation of Muhammad (s), we now continue our discussion of the fruits of this great month that has been honored by Allah (swt) with the Revelation of the Holy Qur’an, the constitution of this Nation, which resembles an envelope that contains this spiritual ‘ibadah which raises the da’imeen ("lasting ones") to the level of the angels, close to Allah. It is such a great form of worship that strengthens the will, when the human being controls his nafs and reigns over it with his mind (‘aql) with which Allah has given him precedence over the rest of his creation, He (swt) said,
"We have honored the sons of Adam, provided them with transport on land and sea; Given them for sustenance things good and pure, and conferred on them special favors, above a great part of our creation."
That is how the human being gains victory over his animal nature and desires, and rises to an angelic level, that Allah will boast of him in front of his angels, those nearest to Allah.
This great victory for mind and will over the nafs and desires serves as a vanguard for...

Is Allah of the Quran the same God of
The debate between Christianity and Islam is as fresh today as it was during the time of
Mohammad the founder of the Islam religion. Over the past 1400 years, there has been
numerous discussions between the two religions on numerous topics fundamental to both faiths
and on how each view the others’ position.
One of these crucial topics is whether the God of Islam, Allah, is the same God as that of
Christianity mentioned in the Holy Bible. Why this particular topic was raised is because of
the following details are mentioned in the Quran:
● Allah created the heavens and the earth in six days,
● Allah created Adam and Eve as our first parents, and that they were cast out of the
Garden of Eden (
in Islam) when they ate the forbidden fruit
● Allah sent prophets such as Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon and Jesus (Isa) to guide
● Allah showed special favors to the children of Israel
● there will be a great Judgment Day, and that the destiny of mankind is either to heaven
) or hell (
In addition, the Quran asserts that Allah, is indeed the God of Abraham ...
...According to Islamic belief, Allah is the proper name of God, and humble submission to his will, divine ordinances and commandments is the pivot of the Muslim faith. "He is the only God, creator of the universe, and the judge of humankind." "He is unique (wāḥid) and inherently one (aḥad), all-merciful and omnipotent." The Qur'an declares "the reality of Allah, His inaccessible mystery, His various names, and His actions on behalf of His creatures."
Allah script outside Eski Cami (The Old Mosque) in Edirne, Turkey.
In Islamic tradition, there are 99 Names of God (al-asmā’ al-ḥusná lit. meaning: 'the best names' or 'the most beautiful names'), each of which evoke a distinct characteristic of Allah. All these names refer to Allah, the supreme and all-comprehensive divine name. Among the 99 names of God, the most famous and most frequent of these names are "the Merciful" (al-Raḥmān) and "the Compassionate" (al-Raḥīm).
Most Muslims use the untranslated Arabic phrase in shā’ Allāh (meaning 'if God wills') after references to future events. Muslim discursive piety encourages beginning things with the invocation of bismillāh (meaning 'in the name of God').
There are certain phrases in praise of God that are favored by Muslims, including "Subḥān Allāh" (Holiness be to God), "al-ḥamdu lillāh" (Praise be to...
...An American Tragedy : How a Good Company Died
This case study tells us the story of Burgmaster Corp which is a machine tool maker company . Burgmaster was a thriving enterprise by 1965, when annual sales amounted to about $8 million . Although it needed backing to expand, it sold out to Buffalo-based conglomerate Houdaille Industries Inc .
The case study also, inform us too many machine- tool and auto parts factories are silent, too many U.S. industries still can’t hold their own .
Holland uses Burgmaster’s demise to explore some key issues of economic and trade policy . The LBO chocked off Burgmaster’s investment funds when foreign competition made them most necessary .
Houdaille’s charge that a cartel led by the Japanese government had injured U.S. tool makers .
Holland offers plenty of ammunition by creating enormous pressure to generate cash . Burgmaster pushed its products out as fast as possible . It shipped defective machines . It promised customers features that engineers hadn’t yet designed .
The External Forces for Burgmaster Corp Demise :
1- The Government policies : tax laws and macroeconomics policies that encourage LBOs and speculation instead of productive investment .
2- Pentagon procurement policies for favoring exotic, custom machines over standard, low cost models .
3- The indusrial policy : Domestic tool makers were too complacent when imports seized the lower end of the product line, the ill prepared for change and struggling to...
The use of praise within the primary classroom
I will use this essay to analyse the effective and destructive often harmful use of praise as a reward system within the primary classroom.
Firstly it is important to explain what a reward system actually is in terms of a primary classroom. According to the Universal Dictionary, (1998); a reward is “something given or received in recompense for worthy behaviour”. A reward system therefore, is a system adopted by either a class teacher, adult or as a whole school ethos for the delivery of rewards for positive academic or social behaviour during the school day. From experience, the reward scheme does not have to finish at the end of the school day and can extend into what children achieve during their own time, whether this is through commendations or simply through public use of praise, perhaps in an assembly, as a form of verbal reward.
All reward systems are based around the principal of two forms of praise; these are either extrinsic motivators; these tend to be based around variations of the token economy, or intrinsic motivators. Praise as a system in its own right falls into the intrinsic motivators category as there is no extrinsic or ‘token reward’ physically given to the children.
“Intrinsic motivation occurs when we act without any obvious external rewards. We simply enjoy an activity or see it as an opportunity to explore, learn and...
...What is Belief in Allah and its effects
The Islamic faith is based on belief in Allah. When a person believes that the heavens and the earth and the world around him have been created by Him, and it is He who is governing them and it is He who will one Day call all mankind to account, then this is the beginning of religious awareness. Quite obviously, it is necessary that people have a true conception of their Creator. For this, they must have knowledge of the rational grounds of His existence as well as knowledge about gaining His correct recognition (ma`rifat).
In this article we shall dwell upon these twin issues. |
We shall first take up the issue of the Almighty's existence. A logical starting point in this regard would be to analyze all human sources of knowledge. A little deliberation shows that, apart from Divine Guidance revealed to the Prophets, man has three sources of knowledge. We shall examine each one of them.
a) Faculty of Intuition: Certain a priori information exists in every person's intuition: it pertains to the knowledge which is not learned through the senses but which is innate and inborn in an individual. This innate information consists of various concepts. For example the concept of contradiction is information present in our intuition. This concept, of course, is not a tangible thing. However, we apply this concept to a certain phenomenon and conclude that contradiction exists.
..."In Praise of Illiteracy"
By Hans Magnus Enzensberger
This essay was adapted from a talk given by the author and translated from German, which I took from Harper’s Magazine.
Can we dispense with the written word? That is the question. Anyone who poses it will have to speak about illiteracy. There’s just one problem: the illiterate is never around when he is the subject of conversation. He simply doesn’t show up; he takes no notice of our assertions; he remains silent. I would therefore like to take up his defense.
Every third inhabitant of our planet manages to get by without the art of reading and without the art of writing. This includes roughly 900 million people, and their numbers will certainly increase. The figure is impressive but misleading for Humanity comprises not only the living and the unborn but the dead as well. If they are not forgotten, then the conclusion becomes inevitable that literacy is the exception rather than the rule.
It could occur only to us, that is, to a tiny minority of people who read and write, to think of those who don’t as a tiny minority. This notion betrays an ignorance I find insupportable.
I envy the illiterate his memory, his capacity for concentration, his cunning, his inventiveness, his tenacity, his sensitive ear. Please don’t imagine that I am speaking not about romantic phantoms but about people I have met. I am far from idealizing them. I also see their narrow horizons, their illusions, their obstinacy,...
