Narrative Essay – Where I found love
As a little girl when I imagined finding my true love, I thought I would marry my high school sweetheart. At one point in my life it seemed as though I would never find that “one” person. On August 18th 2005, I was on date with Antonio and we were in California on Coronado Island, San Diego. I thought this was just another date. I had been dating Antonio for two months when he asked me to go away with him in a few months to meet some of his family in California. I told him yes right away, but inside I was not sure if this was a mistake. As time went on and our relationship grew, I began to feel going away was not going to be a mistake at all. We had been dating for about five months when we left for our first trip together to California. One day Antonio surprised me with a date on one of his favorite beach locations. I was so excited to see this special beach that Antonio had told me all about. Antonio and I both love the beach, so I couldn’t have been happier to go. The day began like any other day. We had breakfast at the house then headed out to the beach. The drive was about an hour from his family’s house. It was a gorgeous day outside, sunny, not humid –like NY and not a cloud in the sky. On our way to the beach we could see the San Diego Skyline; it was really beautiful. We unpacked the car and headed to the beach. The sand was so nice and warm because of the shining sun and it felt so nice under my feet. We placed the blanket down in front of the chairs and laid on it, soaking up the sun. Antonio got up because he was thirsty and asked if I wanted a drink. He came back with water for me and a cocktail for himself. I thought it was a little weird that he was drinking so early in the morning; especially considering he didn’t really drink that much. We were relaxing and enjoying the sun, Antonio had finished his drink and had...

...to me I always get the worst description. For instance, people see my bas teeth and assumes I’m a drug head, which is very frustrating to me because I don’t use drugs and never have. Furthermore, I am supposed to take 500mg of Lysine daily which is to help prevent getting fever blisters as much as I get them and this is caused because my body doesn’t product the amino acid needed to keep from getting fever blisters. Knowingly, thatI need to take the Lysine pill so I won’t get fever blisters as often and still can’t seem to make myself take the pill each day. For which, I just am not the type of person who likes to take a lot of pills. Some people have even gone so far to ask me for drugs. Although, the hardest part about my teeth being bad is when I go apply for a job, which seems to hurt me in getting some of the jobs that I have interviewed for this past year.
Socioeconomic status has been shown to be a variable indicative of whether people will judge other people’s actions on the basis of the situation or the individual themselves.
Whether you want to admit it or not, you make judgments on appearance too. Everyone does. It’s a human trait and nothing to be shamed about. It’s how our mind anticipates situations. And our clothes communicate a lot about ourselves, whether we like it or not. Just like body language, voice tone is made...

Our world today is struggling more than ever, the challenges we face today keep growing more each day making it difficult for our world to become more balanced or “peaceful.” The challenges we face today are many and impact everyone in one way or another. Out of all the challenges we face today, the environment, economy, and oil and gas are the three aspects that affect the world the most. These three challenges are challenges that with the right people and proper actions could easily be fixed with time and determination. Today there are 195 countries in the world and as countries who share Earth and everything that Earth has to offer; we need to work together to find solutions to the challenges that affect the world today.
The environment is one of the most urgent global problems we face today. One problem affecting the environment is the Earth’s temperature. The earth is warming up more and more every day and scientists have come to conclude to be human-induced. Due to the Earth warming up, the climate temperature is changing drastically. In some areas in the country the temperature rises to high levels affecting species and habitats all around the world. In other areas, the temperature drops to extreme levels that also affect the habitat and species. For example, in Antarctica the drop in temperature is causing the ice to melt resulting in the loss of...

At that moment, I was anticipating how I was going to walk across the stage without falling down in my heels. As the people were calling the people in the front row, my heart starting pounding. In my head, I was thinking, ‘Wow, this is really happening; I am really about to walk across this long stage and receive my high school diploma.” When they finally called my name, I could hear my mother and my aunt screaming in the background. They were overly excited for me. I could hear my cousin screaming as well. She was saying, ‘Yasss, Atinuke, my baby did it”. As I was taking my long stride across the stage, I pictured my high school career, the friends I made along the way and the ones I lost due to them not rising to my level of academic success. All my thoughts came to a sudden halt when I had to take a picture with the principal of my school. From there, my thoughts continued to my experience attending prom, to some of my accomplishments throughout high school. As my stride came to an end, I shed one tear in realization that high school was over and my own journey was beginning form this day forward. As everyone was in his/her seats, the principal went to the podium. He announced the graduating Class of 2014 of Eleanor Roosevelt High School. After saying that, some of my peers...
“I Am a Man”: NarrativeEssay of a Photograph
I am he who walks the earth, invisible. I am he who gets knocked down for being me. I am defined by the pigmentation of my skin. I am defined as the victimizer, but really the victim. I am he who fights, but never wins. I am a Man. I am a black man, deprived of my manhood. And yet I stand, fighting, predisposed to think that one day I too will be seen as who I really am. A Man.
How does one evoke the image of manhood? Or in simpler terms, what is a man? Being a man, in society’s eyes, means to be the head of a household, to earn a salary sufficient enough to support a family, and to have a voice in politics. How does a black man, living in Memphis, Tennessee, consummate these notions set out for me? I do all that I possibly can to make ends meet, but my children still go to bed hungry. Every day I am out looking for a job, but every day I am estranged. And when it comes to politics, the only voice I’m allowed to have is when I am sitting at the bar with other brothers discussing the many issues in society. How do I get to the place of manhood?

...affection ("Ilove my mother") to pleasure ("I loved that meal"). It can refer to an emotion of a strong attraction and personal attachment. It can also be a virtue representing human kindness, compassion, and affection—"the unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another". It may also describe compassionate and affectionate actions towards other humans, one's self or animals.
Ancient Greeks identified four forms oflove: kinship or familiarity (in Greek, storge), friendship (philia), sexual and/or romantic desire (eros), and self-emptying or divine love (agape). Modern authors have distinguished further varieties of romantic love. Non-Western traditions have also distinguished variants or symbioses of these states. This diversity of uses and meanings combined with the complexity of the feelings involved makes love unusually difficult to consistently define, compared to other emotional states.
Love in its various forms acts as a major facilitator of interpersonal relationships and, owing to its central psychological importance, is one of the most common themes in the creative arts.
Love may be understood as a function to keep human beings together against menaces and to facilitate the continuation of the species. The word "love" can have a variety of related but distinct meanings in...
I wait for your gentle kiss,
and those soft lips I really miss!
Your bright eyes and the way you smile,
they only last for a while,
But I will wait for you here,
until you come and dry my last tear,
I just want you to know,
I will always be waiting for you.
ILove You With All My Heart
When things are changing all around us
and the world seems to move too fast,
don't forget, I'll be right beside you.
So when you look ahead to future changes,
or think about how the past used to be,
Don't forget to look beside you
because that's where you'll find me loving you
with all my heart.
That's one thing you can count on
that will never change!!!!
S. L . Y.
You are my everything
How you and me became 'WE',
I'll never know.
But now that I have you
I can never let you go.
It shouldn't be legal,
A love like this.
Ilove you more,
With every stolen kiss
The light in your eyes,
Gets me through each day.
Forever in your arms,
Is whereI want to stay.
(dedicated to the love of my life Doug)
