The most important political event that has occurred in my life, and I think most of my classmates would agree, was the tragedy that occurred on September 11, 2001.
I think that most people can remember where they were and what they were doing when they first heard about the attacks. I was just starting my freshman year in high school. When I got up in the morning and saw a plane crash into one of the twin towers in New York City, my first thought was that it was a terrible accident. When the second tower was hit 15 minutes later, we all knew that this was no accident. Throughout the day we watched the news during class and in between classes. This was truly the first day of my own political life.
The disasters of 9/11 occurred at a very influential time for me. Just beginning high school, I was finally starting to realize who I was and what I believed in. I honestly had not really thought about politics with any real meaning or purpose. Before September 11, I didn't think that we would have another war or major conflict, at least not for a long time. Soon after the attacks, we started hearing about Al Qaeda, terrorism, and scandals, and my first impression was, "I thought we were the good guys? Why would anyone want to harm us?" As the days go on, still fighting terrorism and the war in Iraq, we hear more and more about dishonesty, scandals, and corruption in our government.
September 11 cast a long shadow over not just NYC and Washington D.C., but over the entire United States and the entire world. No longer can we show up just one hour before your flight, let alone bring a drink along. No longer can we talk on the telephone with no fear that the government is listening. No longer can we automatically take what the government says as fact.
The only way for all of this to stop is to have a world where there is no greed and dishonesty. While this won't happen in the near future, and most likely not during my lifetime, I hope that someday it can...
...26 th of january. Republic Day of India.
Bhuj, home to my aunt and the place where i have been spending my holidays for the past 10 years or so.
It was 8:55 in the morning. Everyone was ready for breakfast except me. I was always late on the dining table and often made mom angry. But that day mom didnt get angry. Wondering why ?
Bhuj and neighbouring places had just witnessed a powerful earthquake that rocked the whole of gujarat. The word earthquake always evoked something-but that something was never akin to terror. On the other hand, it was something right out of a Bollywood potboiler.
But......but not this time. I thought the earth had cracked open and was about to swallow me. It was the most horrifying experience of mylife. All of us immediately rushed out of the house. I saw all my neighbours running away. We were not just nervous, we were frightened. I saw some three, four persons dead on the way. We could not see a thing because the air was full of dust. Houses were collapsing, and at one time it was so dark, so dark.........My father described it correctly. He said it was like a huge plane landing right on your head.
First time in mylife I was dragged face to face with reality, ironically the only reality of life that is death ! Isn't it incredible how with a tiny nudge, nature can annihilate a whole town ! A prospering...

I think the mostimportant person in mylife is my mother. The reason why I chose my mother is because she is really all I have, she is my motivation, and she helps me live through all my struggles. I wouldn't be able now to enjoy this minute of mylife writing this essay without my mother. My mother has brought me to this wonderful world. For nine months she carried me, she felt very bad, but did not refuse, and gave birth to me.
Looking back, my mom is the most positive and important influence on mylife.
I've been mentioning my mom, in almost every essay I write. But I really can't express how much I love her, in just words. My mom is a really big part of me, and she's the person who influences and...
...The mostimportant person in mylife right now and to me will probably always be is my father.
The reason is because he is my role model in mylife.
My father is always correct about everything and judges any situation wisely.
When I was a kid, my father was a target of complaint and did not want to resemble. Behavior, speech, values, everything was different with me.
However, as an adult, I could understand a little bit of my father.
After I finished the army, I drank the first time with my father. At that time my father said to me.
'Why did I give you a strict upbringing? Because I wanted to have you grow up nicely than anyone else.'
'Now you are an adult and I raised you nicely. So, you will do well. Your life is yours. That is no concern of mine. But I have the responsibility of protecting you. I believe that you must understand me! And I love you. I'm sorry to say too late'
That said, I think a lot about my father. Since then, My father is a role model in mylife. Now, I try to learn his way.
I'm really proud of him and respect for him. He was the best father to me now and for ever.
I really love and thank to my father.

...of the MostImportant Moment in MyLife.
The terrible robbery incident that happened to me and the rest members of my immediate family 14yrs ago occurred In the big house my father has labored to build to his comfort, and also, threatened mylife, and the entire household. Only a few flashback memories of normalcy, panic, and luck are what are left in my head.
It was a normal raining season back in Nigeria, West Africa, known as summer here in the United States. The month was July and a Tuesday night. I had just finished my evening tutorials along with my other siblings. My mother as usual, prepared a very nice meal “pounded yam and egusi soup” for dinner. We all sat down like any other day on the dinning table and savored what my mum cooked. At about 7:15pm on that normal day, my father told my mum he was going out to see his business partner for a brief meeting. On hearing that, myself and my sibling felt happy because his absent will give us a little more play time before going to bed. He then called on my elder brother Kennedy to open the drive way gate, and instructed him to put the lock on the gate behind him. Kennedy hurriedly and happily ran down stairs and did exactly what my dad had told him to do after the...
...A Significant Event
I think in a human life, everyone has a significant event that they can't forget. Mine is a poignant farewell party where I said good-bye to my family, my relatives, and my friends. Everyone was laughing and telling funny stories, but I wanted to be alone. I sat on the roof of my house and looked at the stars. It was very hard to leave. I knew I loved them so much and I didn’t truly want to go to the U. S.; however, I decided I must go and make my own future. I realized that this was my chance to build my career which would benefit me and my family. It was an emotional evening. I will always remember it.
It was a lovely day with a sunny morning, a cloudy afternoon, and a windy evening. That morning, I went to the America Embassy for an appointment with the delegate for an interview to receive my F-1 Visa. Maybe it was my lucky day. There were many people who wanted to get a Visa that day. I had waited more than three hours in the waiting room for my turn. I was nervous about what he would ask me. But the interview was easier than I thought. I passed it with a smile on my face.
When my father knew I had passed the interview, he was really happy. He told me he would organize a big farewell party for me, and he did it. He invited...
...An ImportantEvent in MyLife By:PFC.Valdez, Gonsalo
An importantevent in mylife
There are so many events happened in mylife and most of them consist to be an important part of mylife. They are precious because I can learn much from them or sometimes they can make me feel better when I am sad. I think the event which influent me most is happened at my senior high school.
When I was in my 4th grade of senior high school, I should choose the university and the major which I want to go on my further study would have been in criminal justice, bad thing is I don’t have money to continue on my education for college.
But I always said I wanted to do something in the future relative with the military career or law enforcement. When I was about to finish high school I knew I had to make a decision really quick.
I did not want to finish high school without knowing what to do in life, and I am certainly was not going to live with my parents for the rest of mylife, and have a low minimum wage job. I wanted to be somebody important and successful. I not just chose any military branch; I joined the United...

I’ve been mentioning my mom, in almost every essay I write. But I really can’t express how much I love her, in just words. My mom is a really big part of me, and she’s the person who influences and inspires me. I can’t imagine mylife without her. What would I do?? I don’t know.
I’ve learned how to love her, since I met her for the first time. And I will always love her. She is everything for me. She always protects me and always supports me. She is always with me, when I’m happy and when I’m sad. She helps me with hard problems in mylife, and she is glad for some good things I do.
She helped me from the first, day I was born. She fed...

When I was in my third grade of senior high school, I should choose the university and the major which I want to go on my further study after the college entrance examination. After the score came out, I chose Nursing as my first major. But my parents disagreed that strongly. Because I never said that I wanted to do something in the future relative with the medical career before. Both of them let me thought carefully because to be a nurse was very toilsome. Also, nurses always shift their work and they should go to work at night even. That’s a tired job. In addition, the process of being a nurse was difficult, too. My mother wanted me to be a teacher as her. At that time, I was so confuse that I didn’t know which one was suitable for me to choose. I knew what the advice my parents gave was good for me. I also knew my future was belongs me and I should make the...
