Iqbal Quran And Muslim Unity
I m Urmia Azhar and today the topic of my speech is Iqbal Quran and unity….
Muslims are supposed to work together towards a common goal set by Quran and shown by prophet PBUH through Sunnah.
Muslims are required to be merciful towards each other and according to Quran be like the body where if the any part hurts the whole body should feel the pain.
But are Muslims practicing this injunction of the Quran and the Sunnah of the prophet PBUH…????? Is Muslim unity only a dream that cannot be fulfilled…????
Many argue that all this talk of Muslim unity is out of date. Islam may have once united Muslims But present reality makes it impossible. They say it is nice talk which makes Muslims feel Good But an unrealistic goal that cannot be achieved. Muslims spend and have spent a lot of their time and emotional energy debating this issue.
Infact this is what happening to Muslim Ummah today….????
Probably there are no people in the world today who have been as divided as Muslims. They are divided along religious, political, ethnic, cultural, racial, linguistic, and sectarian lines. These Divisions extend further into subdivisions status, wealth, fame, fortune have also created social differences among Muslims.
These Differences and divisions do create physical, emotional and physiological barriers amongst us.Iqbal says these differences create prejudice in human beings.
Coming to religious level we find that a number of Mosques is growing everywhere The number of Muslims going to Mosques is also increasing. The Number of Muslims performing the annual pilgrimage increases ever year and infact, has to be controlled to restrict the number. Noticing such an abundance of religious fervor among Muslims Iqbal was led to say:
Let us pray to Allah to unite our hearts in the...
...All Muslims know the value and importance of uniting the Muslims around the world. We have read and heard many times the famous verse from Surah Al-i-Imran, " And hold fast all together by the rope which Allah (stretches out for you) and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude Allah's favor on you; for ye were enemies and He joined your hearts in love so that by His grace ye became brethren; and ye were on the brink of the pit of fire and He saved you from it. Thus doth Allah make his signs clear to you: that ye may be guided". (Verse 013, Al-i-Imran).
Delivering long and long speeches about the Unity of Muslim Ummah does not tire our leaders, Imams and scholars. Every Muslim talks about the unity. However, as days are passing by Muslims are getting more and more divided. The division is multidimensional. Muslims are divided based upon languages, ethnicity, regional preferences, nationalism and above all sectarian beliefs in the name of Islam. The reasons of these divisions could be many. But in this paper I would like to focus on two reasons.
Division among Muslims because of local nationalism.
Division among Muslims because of sectarian beliefs in the name of Islam.
In spite of so many movements of unity why Muslims are getting further divided? This paper identifies the...
...UNITY OF MUSLIMS & MUSLIM COUNTRIES,
Islam is Peace . Islam condemns killing the innocents . Islam forbids killing the women & children even in the battle field. Islam says to be just & kind with the war prisoners . So, No terrorism in the name of Islam . Again, No killing innocents in the name of terrorism. Islam is all about peace, love & justice and all about defending them . So defend the innocents & resist the occupation, the killers & oppressors All together.
And whosoever does not rule by what Allah (swt) has revealed, such are the Kafirun (disbelievers)." [ Al Qur'an 5:44]
No muslim is the enemy of another Muslim . No Muslim country is the enemy of another Muslim country . stop fighting and making divisions among the muslims. Otherwise, we will experience much blasphemy, oppresion, occupation, killing . Be united under the flag of Islam . Oh Muslims, stand all together to defend yourself. Struggle for the victory ; not for the defeat .
Allah (SWT) says in various verses in Qur'an :
"As for those who divide their religion and break up into sects, you have no part in them in the least: their affair is with Allaah. He will in the end tell them the truth of all that they did." [Al Qur'an 6:159]
"And hold fast, All together, by the rope Which Allah (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves;" [Al-Qur’an 3:103]...
...Top position of the Islamic World
Muslim world, with almost a billon and a half population, and so many features of climate and geography, and natural and human resources, can establish a great and united society.
The pocket of Western colonialism is continuously getting filled from this region for over two hundred years; whether in the colonial era, the neo-colonial era, or in modern era, this zone has served the political goals of arrogant world, which America could be considered as the top leader of them.
If the Islamic nation obtains its unity, if Islamic power shows his true meaning, if actual independency in this area is realized, the economical and political and cultural dominance of the enemy will be stopped.
Enemies do not like this, and they are trying to prevent this phenomenon from
happening with all their power. The trick that they have found is to make a schism
and unfortunately this disease has penetrated inside the Islamic world body. I
seriously ask you to consider this issue and think about it.
• Hard periods of the Islamic Ummah (Nation)
Islamic nation has passed hard periods and has seen many ups and downs in the
history; and today it has reached to a decisive point. Today, if Islamic Ummah
arranges an acceptable attempt, it can choose a way to revoke lags and problems and
hardships and sufferings of the Islamic world. If the directive motion of officials and
elites; and their decisions in the entire...
...Unanimous faith of every Muslim on One Allah, His Messenger (Muhammad PBUH) as last prophet, Holy Quran and Sunnah/Hadith of Prophet became a binding force bringing together people of different region as one Ummah. However, anti-Islamic force couldn’t swallow this growing religion and unity among them considering it as major threat towards their ideologies and religions. Muslim history is replete with glory and down fall, having difference as a healthy and creative activity, however there was no question on differences on religious matters as are prevailing today.
“Muhammad (PBUH)” as Binding force for unity of Ummah
His teachings clearly elaborate affection and love for prophet and if we critically analyze, it is evident that anti-Islamic forces have been trying to diminish love of Muhammad (PBUH) in the heart of Muslims, by creating clear division among them. He has quoted so many versus of Holy Quran,
“Obey Allah, his prophet and the one Who is designated to command amongst you (Verse 59 Al Nissa-Chapter 5),
O Believer don’t shout in front of Prophet and avoid talking with him as you normally talk with each other, otherwise your worships will go wasted and you will not be aware of it (Verse 2, AlHoojrat, Chapter 26),
The one who obey Prophet, without any doubt he obeys Allah(Verse 80, Al Nissa, Chapter 5).
Therefore to take out love of Muhammad (PBUH)...

...IQBAL' S CONTRIBUTION TO THE REAWAKENING OF THE MUSLIM WORLD
Muhammad Aman Hob ohm
Some time before his death the poet and philosopher Mohammad Iqbal, in whose memory this meeting is held, wrote the following quatrain:
"When I depart from this world
everyone will say: "He was known to me
But in truth, none knows this traveller,
Or what he said, and to whom nor whence he came."
I have neither the good fortune of knowingIqbal personally nor am 11 an Iqbal scholar. When I was asked by the Honorary General Secretary, Pakistan Cultural Group, to participate in this meeting and to share with you some of my thoughts on the contribution made by Mohammad Iqbal to the renaissance of the Muslim World in general and to the re-awakening of Muslims of pre-partitioned India in particular, I accepted, mainly for the following two reasons:
Firstly I feel that as a Muslim whose own understanding of Islam has been deeply influenced by Iqbal it was my duty to join you in paying homage to this great and noble soul repaying some of the debt of gratitude I owe him for enlightening me through his writings on so many aspects of Islamic teachings and for in-creasing my love and respect for the Messenger (peace be upon him) -- and his message through Iqbal's inspired exposition of the religion of Islam, -- the religion of my choice....
...that reflects your thesis statement.
The Qur'an is recognized as the last literal words of GOD given to his people by Muhammad the last prophet, or messenger of GOD (Quran recitations and translation online, 2006-2009). The Quran is without a beginning, middle, or ending, and consists of 114 chapters of varying lengths called “Sura”. Each ‘Sura’ is titled dependant on the message being portrayed (Hooker, 1996). It also reveals the following “five pillars of Islam” (Five Pillars of Islam, 2009) or standards that define Muslim religious belief and practice. These pillars are the foundation of Muslim religion. Good introduction and thesis statement.
“Shahada” means the acceptance of no other GOD but ALLAH and that Mohammad is the prophet of Allah (Five Pillars of Islam, 2009). This same theme is reinereated thoroughout the Quran is is the single most important basis of Muslim religion. Develop paragraph further.
“Salat” is the requirement to pray daily starting at dawn, noon, mid-afternoon, sunset, and night facing toward the Mecca. (source?) This time is seen as a personal conversation with Allah expressing gratitude and worship as well as asking for assistance if needed. It is believed that this practice enables one to remain on a true path of righteousness. (Five Pillars of Islam, 2009) Muslims are seen daily at the Mosques during this ritual prayer but it is...
