Have you ever been in a place where the weather was so severe? Where you thought to yourself, where did this awful weather come from? If you had a choice would you rather live where there were hurricanes or blizzards? Is your body more tolerable to cold snow or to rainy days?

When we talk about hurricanes the first one that comes to mind is hurricane Katrina that happened in 2005. This was the most destructive hurricane and the deadliest that was ever recorded. Before a hurricane actually happens it is first considered a “tropical disturbance that has to have ocean waters at least 80 degrees Fahrenheit” (N/A “National Geographics…”). With these tropical storms they pull the energy from the warm sea water. Hurricanes are formed out in the larger bodies of water like in the Atlantic Ocean. The closer the storm gets to land the more severe the wind gets and the higher chance it will have to cause more sever land damage. Something else that comes to mind when think of hurricanes is the reality of how many people are hurt or die in one of these storms. The death toll is a shocking number and every storm has a different outcome. Looking back at hurricane Katrina the death total was one thousand eight hundred and thirty-three people making Katrina the deadliest hurricane since nineteen eighty-two Okeechobee hurricane.

On the contrary blizzards are a problem that the northern areas may face. Thinking of a blizzard makes me think of a nice warm fire and my family all huddled up in the living room. “The Super Bowl blizzard is one that took a trophy for being the most unusual ever in history” (Becky Oskin “Live Science...”).
