Social inequality refers to the presence of distinct social groups which are ranked one above the other in terms of factors such as prestige and wealth. They are many different types of social inequality. Inequality may be based on gender, cultural practices, or race (Mickleson, 1987). In order for something to be considered inequitable, there must be differences in benefits based on some perceived different. Gender inequalities matter not only for women, but for the entire society. Eradicating gender inequalities would drive an upswing in household income and reduce both poverty and inequality (Costa, et. al. 2008). Gender Inequality in the United States has been on the front burner for several decades now. In the 1960’s women organized typically peaceful protests demanding equal rights. They wanted equal pay for equal work. They wanted the glass ceiling destroyed. They wanted to be recognized as equal to their male counterparts. The reason that we emphasize “women’s rights” within human rights goes beyond history. Traditionally, women have not enjoyed equal access to basic human rights, protections, resources, and services. Unfortunately, gender inequality is still present in every society and remains as a huge barrier for the world. Unequal situations for women vary significantly by region, country, culture, society, and community. Also, there are various conditions and places where women are disadvantaged. The origin of the discrimination is sometimes religion, beliefs, cultural traditions or political interests. These excuses in some occasions encourage the unequal and discriminatory treatment of women, thus creating oppressed communities. Moreover, women’s categorization according to their race, sexual orientation, disabilities, economic status and some other factors triggers more and more discriminative actions in societies (Costa, et. al. 2008).

Problems Facing HumanServices Clients
Humanservice professionals have a very rewarding career. They are given the opportunity in more ways than one to provide help to those who are in need of it. While this profession can be rewarding, unfortunately, this area of expertise can be emotionally exhausting because of the many problems that the humanservice clients face and the lack of resources that are available to them. These problems include, but are not limited to, economic inequality, poverty, child welfare as well as social problems.
While these problems are evident daily, humanservice professionals are trained to notice the oppression and social injustice and to develop solutions to the problems so they will not continue to persist in the future (France, 2005). For example, humanservice professionals are more aware of the common denominator or factor that is present among a family living in poverty, an incarcerated individual and a person living with a disability. This essay is an attempt to show how culture influences human development and interpretation of the world. Therefore, to start with this essay will define culture by different scholars. a. Competition- This strength will help me because in the humanservice area, it is about how well you can interact and connect with your client. Every client is like a little competition. Some clients are a little harder to build a (professional) relationship than some clients. Being a competitor, it drives me to conquer the obstacles that come between the client and me.
b. Adaptability- Every once in a while, there may be a situation where you are put on the spot or a situation that you may not know how to handle. Adaptability allows you to get a topic back on subject to where you can keep the conversation on a route that is productive. Being adaptable also means that I expect changes to happen. My clients may think an action has one consequence, but being the adaptable person I am, I may be able to show them multiple choices or multiple results.
c. Woo- This is probably one of my biggest strengths in the humanservice field. Being a woo will help me connect faster with my clients. Being able connect with my clients faster will allow the client to get over the problem(s) he or she may have over faster. The client will be able to trust me and that will result in the client being honest with me.

To understand how humans function in society, a person needs to understand basichuman needs. These needs vary from person to person, however, all persons in society have a need and humanservices can help provide that.
The Goal of HumanServicesHumanservice goals can be different for different workers within the field. One common goal is to help people.
