Storms are dangerous parts of everyday life. Some can be extremely deadly, while others can do nothing more than a little wind. Depending on where you live, they can come more often than not, and can also be more severe. The key to making it through a storm that knocks out the power, or surviving a deadly hurricane, is a proper preparation. Having a decent place to hide safe, contacting family and loved ones and gathering supplies, you can be sure to survive in the most dangerous conditions that a bad weather can offer.
Staying safe during storm is the most important thing to think about during any stormy situation. It is always a bad idea to stay outside the safe area or house during a dangerous storm. Been exposed outside creates a big risk to you life. Is not that a lighting is going to hit you, but a lighting might hit a tree and that tree could fall on you. If you don’t feel secure at you house ask any closer familiars to stay at their place, or maybe even a neighbor. People should always make sure that at least their house is safe enough to stay at, you would not like to be trapped in your house because it got floated or destroyed. If there is nothing else that you can do and you have to stay at a not so secure place, normally the best place to stay would be at the ground floor in case of the house coming down. It is better to get trapped than to be chorused. After the storm if everything is floated which is very common, people should move to the highest place they can, roof or second floor would be my suggestions. Gathering supplies should be the first task on the list when the skies start to darken. With our technology today, storms are always announced long before they even happen. As I mentioned before it should be the first thing to do in mind because during the storm would be risky and almost impossible to gather supplies. The announcements can tell you when the storm is going to start, but they cannot tell you at what time when will it finish or...
...How to Prepare a Healthy Breakfast
It has been said a numerous amount of times that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. After a long period of time when you are sleeping (which is on average a good 10 to 12 hours) your body starts to slow down. When you wake up in the morning your body is still in the state of “fasting.” Breakfast is the meal that breaks the overnight fast, hence the name “breakfast.” Eating a well-balanced meal in the morning ends that period of time where your body has conserved the calories, and allows your metabolism to rev back up to prepare you for your day.
There are many benefits of eating breakfast. For one it starts your day off right by refueling your body with vitamin and mineral rich foods that your body needs. It also allows you to control your weight. Studies show that it is easier for those who eat breakfast to maintain a healthy weight compared to those who do not. Eating a healthy breakfast will also have long lasting effects like reducing the risk of heart disease or high cholesterol. It is proven that people who eat a good meal in the morning have better concentration and productivity throughout their day, opposed to those who do not eat breakfast.
A healthy breakfast should consist of a variety of foods such as whole grains, low fat protein, dairy products, and fruits or vegetables. All of these foods will provide complex carbs, proteins, and a small amount of fat that your...

How to prepare to go Camping
Camping gives an individual an opportunity to be outdoors and enjoy nature. People either love or hate to go camping. I grew up camping every weekend during the summer and loved every minute of it. Camping gives you an opportunity to see places you have never seen before. Experience new things you would not be able to at your own home or in a city. There are a few things that you should do to prepare for camping: plan on where to go, plan how long you will be gone, plan what is going to be needed to take, and the activities to do while there.
Planning on where to go camping is the most important step. A person needs to decide whether they want a dry warm area, or an area where there may be a river, lake. Maybe you want a place with trees. There are many campsites throughout the United States prepared for camping. Some people may even want to camp off the traveled path and drive to an unknown place. My favorite place to camp is Falls Crick by Palisades in Idaho. It is a place that is warm during the day but cools off towards the night. It is surrounded with lots of trees to make the scenery a bit more pleasing to the eye. Planning on where you’re going camping is going to affect on what you need to pack for the adventure. That is why it is the most important step.
Planning on what you need to take camping can be quite a list. After you...
...are many different ways to brief a case, each dependent largely upon its purpose in being assigned. Below is the format which you should follow for briefing cases in this course:
TO: Supervising Attorney’s Name, Esq.
FROM: (last four digits of your social security number)
DATE: (the date the brief is due)
(You should give a complete citation to the case being briefed, including the name of the case, all parallel citations and date of decision. Use Fla. R. App. P. 9.800 if applicable. If Fla. R. App. P. 9.800 is not applicable, use either Bluebook or ALWD citation form.)
(Summarize the holdings of any previous courts and the disposition of the case by these courts. Explain how the case got to this court, e.g., interlocutory appeal, summary judgment, etc. This explains where the case has been and what happened prior to its arrival at this court. It will be necessary to trace back and determine what the decision of each lower court or administrative body was in the actions prior to those involved in the case you are reading. Ex: Appeal from judgment of dismissal. It is significant to note if the prior decisions were from a trial court or an appellate court or both. Most of the opinions you will read will be those of appellate courts. Be sure to briefly identify the parties and the relief they were seeking or the defenses they raised. This should be a record of the judicial history of the...

How a Nigerian Applicant Should Prepare for an American Student Visa
The visa can be seen as ones ticket to a journey, a step forward to an adventure. The visa is issued at embassies of the desired country one wants to go to, however, the experience that comes with applying for and getting a visa can be quite unforgettable. In Nigeria, there are two United States embassies; one is located at the formal capital state of Lagos, while the other is located at the present capital city – Federal Capital Territory of Abuja. The opinions of the applicants – concerning which embassy gives the most difficult interview – differ. All in all, the United States of America’s visa, process and interviews is known to be one of the most difficult, nerve-racking, embarrassment-inducing processes to go through for Nigerians; it is even more difficult for students to get the F-1 student visa. This could be due to necessary steps taken forward to ensure the security of the country and its citizens, but it is also to ensure that the applicants don’t get stranded and become a liability to the United States or their guardians, and also to be sure that the students don’t over-exceed their permitted Duration of Stay. Therefore, with careful steps and measured precautions, the process of applying, securing and going through a U.S visa interview can be less difficult and one...

...How to Prepare for Any Disaster
Topics in Contemporary Social Issues
We must have tools and plans in place to make it on our own in case of a disaster happening. Just like having a functioning smoke detector in your house, having emergency supply kits will put tools that one may need at your feet. It is important to be prepared to use what you have on hand to make it on your own for at least three days, maybe even longer.
There are six basic items that one should ensure if any disaster were to occur. These include: water, food, a first aid kit, clothing and bedding, tools and supplies, and special items. Any item that you may need when evacuating should be deposited in an easy-to-carry container such as backpack or a duffle bag. It is also important to store a small disaster kit in your vehicle.
Store one gallon of water per person per day, for drinking and sanitation use, in a clean plastic container. More water may be desired if you live in a warmer climate. Choose foods that you and your family will eat, that will not go bad and does not have to be cooked, including fruit bars, dry cereals, canned foods and juices. Also remember to pack a manual can opener as well as cups and instruments used for eating.
Emergency personnel will assist after a disaster strikes however; there may be times when they may not be able to reach everyone immediately. We cannot control natural disasters, emergencies, or terrorist attacks, but...
