EVOLUTIONISM VS CREATIONISM
Evolutionists have proof without any certainty. Creationists have certainty without any proof - Ashley Montagu Good Morning/Afternoon Mr Pillay and Class, today my speech will be on Evolutionism vs Creationism Did God create us or have we evolved over millions of years from single celled organisms?
Did we all come from Adam’s Rib or are we more ape like than we think? You may find that you don’t agree with any of these theories or you might have an opinion of your own.
The purpose of this speech is not to persuade you into believing something that you do not agree with, but is rather an informative speech.
Evolution is a gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or better form. Charles Darwin proposed a theory, now called the Theory of Evolution, stating that animals differentiated into species when the survivors of a changing environment were able to pass their genetic traits to their offspring.
Creationism is the religious belief that a higher power created the animals and everything that exists today through supernatural intervention. Religious beliefs, such as creationism, have to be accepted on faith and cannot be tested or investigated. Creationism beliefs are usually based on a strict interpretation of the Bible or other religious holy books. The book of Genesis starts with the statement "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth", and goes on to describe how in six days God created the plants, the animals, the sun, the moon, and the stars. Biblical interpretation infers that the world was created about 6000 years ago.
The conflict between the theory of evolution and creation has been actively debated for the past century. One of the most argued scientific theories in the world is evolution. Darwin’s theory of the survival of the fittest has always been controversial, stating that humans have come from apes. But the bible’s claim that humans have come...
...scientifically. While in the world today mostly everything is being created from science although that might not have been the case back in the days. In this research paper I will try to show the difference between the two and how they are still one in the same. While this research paper is not designed to persuade you in your beliefs, it is a bucket of knowledge that will better educate you on the two.
The Creationismvs. Evolutionism controversy represents a clash between two ways of relating to the world (scientific/non-scientific). The central idea of biological evolution (scientific) is that all life on Earth shares a common ancestor, just as you and your cousins share a common grandmother. Creationism (non-scientific) is someone who believes in a god who is absolute creator of heaven and earth, out of nothing, by an act of free will. Creationists do not believe that all of today’s living things evolved from simple organisms changing slowly over time. Creationism opposes the idea of human evolution.
(Ruse, Michael, fall 2008)
Since the creation of the universe is typically explained by two popular beliefs. One being the scientific explanation and the other being biblical explanation. These are two very different explanations, and while I believe ones religious beliefs can have a role in which explanation one chooses to follow, one is...
...Debate: Creationismvs. Evolution in Schools: 1st Affirmative Constructive Speech
Creationism and Evolutionism by definition are very different topics. Currently, evolutionary naturalism is the most widely taught view of origins in America. In schools in the modern day, only evolutionism is taught and condoned. But before the 1920s, only creationism was taught, and evolution was forbidden. Then, on February 20, 2008, the Florida State Board of Education voted to revise the public school guidelines to require teachers to teach only Evolutionism. The law was passed with a very narrow 4-to-3 vote in favor of the law. Our resolution (affirmative side) is to teach both the theories of evolution and creationism side by side. This would provide a fair and equal education that lets our generation and future generations choose their freedom to religion as much as possible.
Before I continue my speech, allow me present some key terms in the argument:
1. Creationism - A doctrine or theory holding that matter, the various forms of life, and the world were created by God out of nothing and usually in the way described in Genesis.
2. Evolutionism - A theory of biological evolution, especially that formulated by Charles Darwin.
3. Intelligent Design- Belief that life is too complex to have evolved entirely through...
...In the history of science vs. religion there has been no issues more hotly debated than that of evolution vs. creationism. The issue is passionately debated since the majority of evidence is in favor of evolution, but the creation point of view can never be proved wrong because of long standing religious beliefs. Human creation is seperated into three simple beliefs; creation theory, naturalistic evolution theory, and theistic evolution theory. The complexities of all three sides create a difficult dilemma for what theory to support among commom people, religious or non-religious.
The theories of human evolution tend to always cause a heated dispute in modern American society. Each theory presents its own evidence proving its acceptance, but lacks enough evidence to prove the other theories incorrect. All the theories that attempt to explain human existence fall under the categories of creation theory, naturalistic evolution theory, and the theistic evolution theory. The creation theory explains that a certain God, or God's created the humans, and evolution does not exist. The naturalistic evolution theory states that evolution is driven by purely natural forces, and is not controlled by any input from a god, goddess, or multiple deities. The theistic evolution is a mixture of both creation and naturalistic theories. The theistic evolution theory states that god created the world and guides the evolution process (Religious...

...Creationismvs. Evolution: The Three Different View Points

Creationismvs. Evolution: The Three Different Viewpoints
Scientific facts found in paleontology, biology, geology, and astronomy, pose strong evidence for Evolution making it seem like the only logical answer as to how life evolved. The ideas found in “The Book of Genesis” have made great controversy of whether Creationism is true, or if we should solely rely on the scientific facts of Evolution. In the history of science vs. religion there has been many issues on the debate of Evolution vs. Creationism. This debate happens because the majority of evidence is in favor of Evolution, but because Creationism is based on religious beliefs it is hard to prove it wrong. Although there are many different beliefs and ideas on human creation, it is narrowed down into three theories: Creation Theory, Naturalistic Evolution Theory, and Theistic Evolution Theory. All three sides create a dilemma for humans, religious and non-religious, as to which theory to support because of their many differences. Each theory is unique in providing its own evidence proving its validity, but lacks enough evidence to prove the other theories incorrect. The Creation Theory explains that a certain God created the humans, and Evolution does not exist. The...
...“Creationism, as told in genesis is the better theory of explaining human life than evolution”.
Today I am here to defend my Christian position on the creation of life in opposition to evolutionary scientific theory. I will like to begin by explaining that As a Christian we are compelled by faith by the exterior force that created life. We refer to this force as God and his son Jesus Christ who is our Lord and Savior. We rebuke scientific evolutionary theory fabricated by man. For us Christians we seek for the truth in the word of God, which is the Bible, and the ultimate source of truth and knowledge.
The opening statement of the book of Genesis 1:1 reads as follow ” In the Beginning God created the heaven and Earth” (King). Here is evidence that prove that the Supreme Being, which is God, is the only and unique basis of the creation of universe. It does not emphasize on the beginning of God, as there is not beginning or end to the existence of God. But, rather it tells us about the beginning of time and the creation of earth, as well as the environment in which we live. The book of Genesis explains in specific details how the sequence of events developed.
The word of God is not a fictional source of entertainment like Charles Darwin’s book “ On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection”. Although evolutionary theory is an opposition of the biblical account of creation we believe the Bible provides an accurate account that explains the...
For years, there has been the argument whether or not evolution or creationism was more probable. Creationists like John D. Morris has “called attention to the fact that small changes do not lead to true evolution.” (Morris) Yet, famous evolutionists such as Richard Dawkins always asks, “Do you seriously mean to tell me you believe that all life was created within a week?” (Dawkins) when creationists try to explain that the World was brought to existence in 7 days. Evolution exists because there is hard evidence, such as fossils and petrified impressions that the world slowly came to be over millions of years.
Lawrence Krauss, an American physicist and cosmetologist, works hard to decrease the influence of superstition and religious beliefs in society. He implies that “anyone who disagrees with the methodological naturalism (scientific method) is thereby disagreeing with science.” (Krauss) In his book A Universe from Nothing: Why There Is Something Rather than Nothing, Krauss debates over the proposition that something cannot just come from nothing which is used as a reasoning by creationists for their creator. Krauss also complains how teaching students Science vs Religion in school is wrong because “it assumes there are two sides and that there is a debate.” (Krauss)
Richard Dawkins provides solid evidence that evolution is real. He gives information about possible human remains that...
Tonight I am going to talk about CreationismVs Evolution. Do you know that 800 million people have died in religion’s wars?.
1. The creation–evolution controversy is a recurring dispute about the origins of the Earth, humanity, life, and the universe.
2. The creation-evolution controversy began in Europe and North America in the late 18th century when new interpretations of geology were demonstrated in the fossil geological sequence prompted early ideas of evolution.
In this speech I’m going to talk to you about 3 important topics.
1. The Creation by the hand of God.
2. The origin of species and natural selection by Darwin.
3. A combined view of the creationism and evolution.
* Transition 1
In the first place, let’s talk about the creation by the hand of God.
The Creationism is the religious belief that life, the Earth, and the universe are the creation of a supernatural being. All made in the image and likeness of God and explains the facts based on the assumption of a supernatural, completed process.
* Transition 2
Also, I'll speak of Darwin's theory. The evolution by natural selection, it’s when more offspring are produced than can possibly survive. When members of a population die they are replaced by the progeny of parents that were better adapted to survive and...
