Life is full of challenges and the longer we live the more we face new events. Some pass easily and others not. Therefore people are divided into groups: one works hard and exerts great efforts and the other one gives up rapidly.
The world we live in is not perfect, and we will never ever find a world such as the perfect state which the philosopher Plato talked about. Every day there will be things that make us cry or feel sad about ourselves. People who will stand in front of the difficulties which they face, they will be able to improve themselves and let their dreams come true. Such people have been known during history, like Prophet Mohammad peace be upon him, who tolerated a lot to spread the Islamic religion, and the Virgin Mary. In addition to that we can also mention fat people in the biggest loser. The efforts which they exert are above normal and super.
In contrast, there are people who watch their steps carefully, they study their books and do what their bosses, parents, or teachers tell them to do. But if they, for example, could not solve a math problem they will close their books and stop studying. Furthermore, if there is a problem between a husband and a wife, and this husband or wife is one of those people who give up easily, they may get divorced from the first difficulty.
In brief, and in my point of view, all of us need to success to continue our lives, and if we do not stand up and face every one and every thing the consequences will be harsh.
I knew I had to regain my joyful and enthusiastic spirit, so I started off with stretching my legs and arms. Although the first try was unsuccessful, I did make another try to prove my everlasting desire to live. I had to move on with life even though it's getting shorter. I knew I also had to appreciate the time I still had. I knew I could not let my family down just because I was sick and worried. Nevertheless, I had to strive hard to get along with life. There were many other things I wanted to do and with that, I had to appreciate time and treat every second precious.
I sat straight in my bed, my back against the wall. I started thinking about the things I would do within this very month. This very month, the sole month when I still exist. The only period before I am gone forever and others would only remember me by studying the words engraved on my tomb.
First of all, I will pay a visit to every orphanage on earth. I choose to because only orphans will feel great never-ending sorrow over the loss of their respective parents. I truly feel sorry for them as I imagine the pain my parents will suffer over the loss of their only son.I'll share my feeling with those orphans and try to get to know them personally as well. I'll also visit old folks' homes, rehabilitation centres, and other charity homes for the underprivileged ones. Then, I'll spend time with my ever-supportive family. 'll work with them, play with the...
...Life is full of such dark clouds, looming on our hearts, but we must remember everything is not as bad as it seems, and you may find a little good even in the worst situation.
Chris Gardener, you might remember him from the feature film “ The pursuit of happyness”, well he had a very tragic and challenging life, he got into this business of one scanners, and lost all his money, eventually he is forced to take an unpaid internship at a stock broking firm, because of which today he is a multi millionaire businessman. Even though his failed business seemed like a great debacle at that point in his life, on hindsight it was the reason of his success, had he not been in that condition he might have never reached the dizzying heights he has.
The world is going through a recession today, needless to say that it is a challenging phase for people, but then if you see it from a different perspective, off late with economic boom he world had become too materialistic, people began pursuing a lonely and individual life. Now with recession as all of us face this tough phase together, lend a helping hand to each other, and this has in a way brought us all much closer emotionally. People are hooked off the materialistic phase, which might lead to them appreciating the other things life has to offer. Governments can pay attention to human development rather than economic growth. It’s quite obvious that even though recession is a...
...WHAT! can this be true in this dark world of ours, where the thick clouds of sorrow, disappointed hopes, and bereavements are continually hanging over us, obscuring even the bright star of hope; where upon every passing breeze is borne deep wailings of woe, bitter sighs ascending from bruised and broken hearts mourning over lost hopes, crushed affections, wasted love; struggling vainly for victory in the fierce battle of life; groping about in darkness to catch, if possible, one gleam of sunlight from the heavy clouds--but in vain?
"Ashes to ashes, dust to dust." Another shrine robbed of its idol; another hearth left desolate. See, how the black clouds settle down and press more closely around that lonely widowed one. Grim Death mocks at his grief from the open grave, so soon to receive his heart's idol. Ay, remove the coffin lid; gaze with all the agonizing bitterness of a _last_ look upon that cold marble face; was aught on earth so lovely? Kiss for the last time the pure forehead. Ah! those pale white lips give back no answering pressure of love; sealed for ever by that last chilling blast from the cold river.
And now the damp earth presses heavily over that cherished form; far down in the darkness and silence of the grave must the loved one remain, never more to cheer by her gentle words of love and kindness, the heart of him who so needed her sympathy and love. Gone, gone for ever.
What on earth is now...
...The topic of our second presentation is about the proverb ‘EveryCloudhas a silverlining’. This proverb means in every bad situation there a positive aspect on it. It is also an encouragement to a person who faced some difficulties in life and is unable to see any positive way out. In other words, there is always a positive aspect of something no matte how bad, difficult or painful the situation may seem.
How can these proverb be related with the cross cultural differences is when people especially students how come from different background, culture or religion may face difficulties in interacting with others who may come from different background culture or religion. Students as such may face more difficulties if they fail to adapt or fit in to the new environment.
There are several ways in overcoming the cross cultural differences especially in terms of communication. First, students need to have knowledge, he or she must understand the potential problems that he or she may face and thus must make effort in overcoming the problems. For example students need to find out the differences and similarities between the two cultures. Students need to explore the differences between the two cultures and must take notes about the do’s and don’ts and by finding something common between the two cultures won’t make the students feel odd or weird in the new environment.
...topic for my interpretive speech today is ‘Everycloudhas a silverlining’. This is an idiom which carries the meaning of - it is always possible to get something positive out of a situation, no matter how unpleasant, difficult or even painful it might seem. So, people always use this idiom to comfort others who are facing difficulties.
First I want to tell about how I got to know about this idiom. In this semester, I was very stressed when I was doing one of my assignments. I won’t deny that I did procrastinated, but it is also because I didn’t understand how did it supposed to be. And that was another major problem for me to do it. That time, I was very cranky that I almost gave up doing my assignment. Yet, I still chatted normally with friends. I was chatting with one of my classmates about the assignment then she actually said that, there is one idiom that suits me very well which is everycloudhas a silverlining because I sounded very stressed out. At first I didn’t know what it means. But after I Googled about the meaning of it, I actually find it very true. Nothing is impossible and there is always a solution, it is just the matter of time to realize it, effort put in and the thoughts you have.
To me, this idiom is really suitable for everyone, because, no one will ever have smooth going life forever, it always have ups...
