With the rise of illegalimmigrants, the United States has had difficulties solving the issue for a long time. Hence, there’re many factors for the causes and solutions from different branches and the government. “Amnesty?” and “Why blame Mexico?” are two articles that discuss the reasons for millions of Mexicans risking their lives to come illegally to the U.S. and indeed illustrate the writer’s perspectives and ideas for those people.
In “Amnesty?”, John F. Kavanaugh, a Jesuit professor of philosophy, presents the illegalimmigrants problem based upon the morality of a Judeo-Christian country. The writer begins by a sensational example of an illegal Mexican named María. She is a productive woman, a mother of three children, and a long-term illegalimmigrant in the U.S. However, she has been separated from her family, deported to a dangerous place, and threatened with felony charges of years in prison if she ever tries to come back illegally. To legalize or not to legalize immigrants?
Since the founding of the United States of America over 55 million immigrants have settled here. So you could say we are a country of immigrants. So why is immigration such an issue? Should immigrants be granted citizenship and by law be required to pay for taxes after five year of residency in the United States? Some may say that this is America, “home of the free” but nothing is free here or is it and for whom? If immigrants where forced to nationalize and given a past tax waver and through their taxes much needed revenue would reduce our deficit, help fund our schools, stabilize decaying medical and wealth fair systems and reduce the financial bleed out of our country to other countries specifically Mexico. To understand this better we have to look at the history of immigration.

A company will benefit from the illegal status of a migrant who is desperate for work and therefore prepared to accept poor pay, usually below local norms. Hiring an illegal worker also brings the employer the advantage of paying less in the way of welfare contributions and other nonwage costs.
