The old ideals of morality service and honesty have been forgotten. Poor tolerance, widespread illiteracy and poor economic infrastructure has lead to the current situation, complex laws and procedures alienate common people from the government, highly inflated economy, low salaries and unemployment resort to the road of corruption. Good Morning -----topic on the floor reads “Corruption cannot be eradicated from the Indian society”and I Stand here --Emphatically opposing the motion Is it possible to contain corruption in our society?? Yes my friends it is possible. There are many myths about corruption which have to be exploded one of them being – CORRRUPTION IS A WAY OF LIFE AND NOTHING CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT. Local bodies, governmental organizations like Lokpal and Lok Adalat and Vigilance commission can speed up justice with low expense. India can boost off its veteran activist ANNA HAZARE who stud up for a nation wide movement to clean the society from any kind of corruption. Good patriotic individuals can easily control corruption and I don’t think that any one of you present here will disagree to this fact. A virtues cycle of morality will be established which not only will eliminate poverty but will overcome corruption. Corruption which is a serious challenge can easily be overcome by good governance, freedom of informed legislature, freedom of speech, freedom of press strengthen the society. So friends “Stand Speak and Save India” from this Trojan virus of Corruption.
I would like to conclude by quoting what Mahatma Gandhi who once said “I will not let anyone walk through my mind with his dirty feet”. So my friend it is clearly understood first we need to...
...saying that freedom of speech is the first step of reaching to a free society . Despite the fact that people need to reveal their personal thoughts about politics and criticize it in any facet, many governments are against this right . In this essay I will outline the arguments for and against necessity of freedomspeech for a free society. As far as I concerned, with the enormous pace of development of technology in our modern-age and mass producing of TV, Radio and accessibility of most of the people to internet, people are aware of their rights and they have the knowledge that by criticizing and showing their disapproval they can obtain their needs. To give more details, I should mention that people have learnt from the history that by having the right to say their ideas and have the security after that, the society will be better place to live.
Added to that many politician are against the idea that people and media should be free to show their thoughts . They also create rules for banning the media and set some red lines for censorships . Additionally governments are afraid of being accused by media in any way . It is an undeniable fact that so many of politician want to hide their dark sides, so they prefer limit the people’s freedoms. I am strongly of the opinion that people and media should have the right to state their thoughts and criticize everyone in the government or even a...
...FINAL PROJECT – CORRUPTION IN INDONESIA
Before we discuss about corruption in Indonesia, first we must know what corruption itself is. In a common view, corruption is misused money which causes a deficit for the country itself. But, corruption itself has a broader meaning beside that, corruption itself come from the word “corrupt” which also mean defective. A misused of power can also be a definition of corruption. Based from oxford dictionary, corrupt has a meaning of “having or showing a willingness to act dishonestly in return for money or personal gain”.
Corruption in Indonesia is already going from Ir. Soekarno era. Even though Ir. Soekarno is well known as a great leader and a great orator, he ever did a corruption which caused him to be overthrown from his era in Indonesia. Corruption which he did is proclaiming himself as a lifetime President of Indonesia. Based on the previous constitution of Indonesia, this action is defying the constitution itself where Republic of Indonesia first is proclaimed as a Republic, and by changing into having a single leader for a lifetime means that Indonesia won’t be a Republic anymore, but Indonesia become a capitalism country. Indonesia have law number UU 31/1999 and UU 8/2010 money laundering, its about the corruption and money laundering.
Based on World Justice...
...Corruption in any form is treated as an incurable disease, a cause of many social and economical evils in the society and it damages the moral and ethical fibres of the civilization. Indisputably, it is correct that corruption breeds many evils in the society and once corruption starts taking place, slowly and gradually whole country passes through its net and it becomes after sometime an incurable disease. From the point of view of economic growth, there seems to be no clear cut correlation between corruption and the economic growth of a country. There may be presence of some social maladies like inequality of income among the people, moral degradation of people due to the prevalence of corruption, but the parameters of economic growth which are taken on percentage or an average basis are entirely different.
we can find several countries having corrupt regime but yielding excellent economic results and other countries with clean regime showing very poor results in terms of economic prosperity and growth.
Transparency International publishes every year lists ranking corruption in various countries. It has just come up with a list of the 10 most corrupt rulers. The list is not given . It can be viewed on the internet. It is against the policy of this site.
This list is neither complete nor exhaustive. Saddam Hussein and his cronies might have skimmed more than some of the above...
...there is corruption in the New York police system but you know what, it’s everywhere as well. Not just New York. Blogging is a new system online now for people to put down their thoughts and feeling about things and it’s a very depressing thing to read sometimes. Every blog that I read there are some people who appreciate the topic but for the most part there are more people that hate the topic and just want to trash it. An example would be the Nashville Tennessee flooding. I read some blogs on the yahoo website and so many people on there were complaining on how the government is getting more involved and that there should be more people trying to help this city. In high site, it takes a lot more strategy and time to come up with a plan for this type of situation. The community just goes off what they read in headings and articles and that’s what throws them off into hating the system.
I use the blogging as a source because in some cases it may be useful but in other and most cases the community is responding to a topic that has happened or will happen and turn it into so many different views and opinions. This isn’t helpful for a newbie to the blog who is reading everyone else’s views to try and understand what is going on and all of a sudden that newbie gets one sided like everyone else because of false accusations. I did a small survey on the “Pride and Glory” movie. Just some questions such as, 1) do you feel this movie is a good form of information...
...Freedom of Speech
The First Amendment for America was built on freedom. The freedom to speak, freedom to choose, freedom to worship, and freedom to do just about anything you want within the law. The first amendment was designed to protect each race. Out of all of our rights, freedom ofspeech is should be the most cherished, and one of the most talked about subjects. Freedom of speech should be utilized, because so many people fought for the right to have freedom and the freedom to speak. Freedom to vote in every major election. Freedom to travel to any state of your choice. Freedom of speech has allowed Americans to speak out against what is wrong with the country and in the world and it has allowed people to express themselves in their own way(rights and liberties 2003 pg 17) Having the freedom to speak is a positive thing. If you use the freedom of speech in the correct way nothing can stand in your way of becoming the best person you can be and have great success.
Freedom of speech is a brave epidemic that has had a great deal of importance on Americans, and the way they live...
...Freedom of SpeechFreedom of speech is arguably the most precious gift of democracy. Democracy nurtures freedom of speech of its citizens. Citizens, in turn, safeguard democracy by voicing their protest against each and every violation of democratic rights of people. Evolution of democracy is nothing but a history of the extension of the right of freedom of speech from the limited group of privileged citizens to the universal right of every citizen granted by democratic regimes of the world. It should not be forgotten that the slaves had no franchise and freedom of speech till the 19th century and women got franchise and democratic rights only in the twentieth century in many democratic countries including Great Britain. Extent of freedom of speech can very well be considered the index of true spirit of democracy in a country.
One wonders as to what would have been the course of history of many countries in the world, had freedom of speech been completely denied to their inhabitants. One celebrated instance of freedom of speech and its historical outcome is forcefully described by Shakespeare in his drama "Julius Caesar". After the murder of Julius Caesar, some leading lights of Rome assembled at a place to offer justification for assassination of...
...Freedom Of Speech, Assembly And Association
Article 10 of the Constitution of Malaysia guarantees Malaysian citizens the right to freedom of speech, freedom of assembly and freedom of association but such freedom and rights are not absolute, unlike the First Amendment in the United States Constitution.
Subject to Clauses (2), (3) and (4), under Article10 all citizens have the right to:-freedom of speech and expression;
assemble peaceably and without arms;
Experts such Professor Dr. Shad Saleem Faruqi have argued that the Malaysian Federal Constitution provides a rather weak provision for freedom of speech primarily as a result of amendments following the May 1969 clashes, known as the Sensitive Matters Amendment to allow Parliament to “impose on the above right, restrictions on eight grounds – public order, national security, incitement and offence, friendly relations with other states, contempt of court, contempt of Parliament, defamation, morality”.
Clause (2) expressly permits Parliament by law to impose restrictions on any citizen's freedom of speech, assembly and association in the interest of:-
a) the security of the Federation;
b) friendly relations with other countries;
c) public order;
e) to protect the...
...FREEDOM OF SPEECH IN CYBER WORLD
1. a. The effect of social networking has caused us something good and bad at same time. We can create healthy relationships through it and it is true to all that there is always a negative feedback behind everything that exists yet I think we can still reduce the incident of cyberbullying by implementing law against it. We can also educate the young regarding with what is moral posting and straitening their attitude towards social networking.
b. yes, it will. In this cyber world all the impossibilities becomes possible like in interacting people even we do not see them face-to-face that will lead us to greater fairness and overcome differences which there are countries who still suffering from racial discrimination. It also shows that people of today are just contented to interact through online or even sometimes prefer not to meet a certain person face-to-face and there are certain scenarios like in staying in a hotel, dinner in a restaurant with family or friends and going to bars in which people prefer to stay places with wireless fidelity and spending a lot of time interacting in social media than communicating person to person. It loses the ability to engage concretely with others.
c. I think there is still same impact in digital media regarding to the context of face-to-face communication virtues since we can still be more open, honest and patience in relating or interacting in cyber world. This...
