Diversity is not about how we differ.
Diversity is about embracing one another's uniqueness.
What is a diverse society? A diverse society is where people of different races and cultural backgrounds come together to form a community. In most thriving societies, the community members are diverse such as Australia, Singapore and Canada. In this essay, I will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of diversity that will affect the society in terms of cultural, economical and social development. A diverse society can contribute to the progress of the economic development of a country by creating an open mindset due to exposure to foreign ideas and people with different backgrounds and experiences, enabling the community to develop a broad-minded approach to life and business. The downside to this is people of different backgrounds may encounter friction during interaction, which may give rise to problems such as religious conflicts. Furthermore, there might also be communication issues between the people in the society, especially when they have language barriers
A diverse society affects the culture of a community. Diversity includes people of different mindsets and views on different things, which lead to exposure to new practices or traditions. Having diversity in a society would allow people to accept things they are not accustomed to. For example, many societies that are diverse have students whom have personal experiences from their various cultures. Each student would then grow up being exposed to various cultures and views. Students who are educated in a diverse environment benefit more because, firstly, he is able to learn from others past experiences and be able to view things in others perspectives. Secondly, diversity encourages critical thinking by helping students communicate effectively to people of varied backgrounds. Lastly, it strengthens teamwork for the future because it fosters mutual...
...Advantages of Total Quality Management (TQM)
Improves Reputation - TQM programs have the advantage of improving corporate as well as product reputations in the marketplace, because errors and defective products are discovered much more rapidly than under a non-TQM system, and often before they are ever sent to market or found in the hands of the public.
Higher Employee Morale - Compared to employees who are motivated, disengaged workers are less efficient, miss more workdays and cost organizations thousands of dollars in lost productivity. Keeping employee morale high is one of the best things you can do to instill loyalty and maintain a productive workplace. Morale affects how motivated your employees are to work for you, suggests how much they will do while on shift, and will influence how long they will stay on staff. As a manager, much of the mood within the organization is in your hands. Make sure you do your part to keep morale levels high:
Lower cost - TQM lowers costs throughout the business infrastructure and organization. Because it is an all-encompassing quality management program, TQM helps different departments to communicate their needs, problems, and desires with each other, so that workable solutions can be found that will help the organization cut costs throughout the supply chain, distribution chain, shipping and receiving, accounting and management departments without losing productivity or the ability to operate...

Objective Resolution and Liaquat Ali Khan
While introducing the resolution in the Constituent Assembly, Liaquat Ali Khan said:
“The ideals that promised the demand for Pakistan should form the corner stone of the state. When we use the word ‘Democracy’ in the Islamic sense it pervades all aspects of life. It relates to the system of government and to our society will equal validity because one of the greatest contributions of Islam has been the equality of men.”
Importance of the Objective Resolution
This resolution is of fundamental importance in the history of constitutions making in Pakistan because from the first constitution of 1956 till the constitution of 1973 (present constitution) whatever constitution was framed it was based on this objective resolution. It contains those steps and principles which were to be taken for the fulfillment of the basic aim of the freedom struggle that is the establishment of an Islamic society in Pakistan. Hence, it is a significant document in the constitutional history of Pakistan.
When Liaquat Ali Khan visited America, in the course of his speech at New Orleans, he said,
“We believe in God and his Supreme sovereignty because we believe that civic life must have an ethical content and a higher purpose. But democracy, social justice, equality of opportunity and equality before the law of all citizens...
...The creation of an identical copy of something is the process of cloning. It is simply a form of asexual reproduction. Cloning is a big issue in todays world of science because of the potential benefits, the risks involved, and medical, ethical and religious conflicts. Plants and animals have already been cloned and stem cell research is already going ahead, and maybe one day science will be able to clone a human. The division of opinion on cloning will require many forums of discussion to cover all aspects. There are serval types of cloning, Reproductive, therapeutic and DNA cloning.
Any animal created by reproductive cloning is not in fact a perfectly matching copy of its donor. Reproductive cloning involves generating an animal that has the same nuclear DNA as another. The process used for this is called Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer. Scientists take genetic material from a cell of the adult donor and place it in an egg which has had its nucleus removed. This egg then must be treated so the process of cell division can start taking place. Once it is ready it will be placed into the uterus of a female to develop until birth.
In 1997, Dolly was the first adult mammal to be cloned. The technique used to clone dolly was the Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer. She lived for six years and successfully gave birth. Dolly was not perfect though; she suffered from progressive lung cancer, which lead to her early death. Scientists argue whether her early death had anything to do with...

What are the advantages and disadvantages of social media?
How might knowing these advantages and disadvantages alter how a person might use social media?
One advantage of social media is the ability to stay connected to friends and family, especially those you may not see often. You can share photos and even host events which you can invite your friends to. Social media is also a good way to meet new friends and share interests with others. Most social media sites offer groups that you can join that have a common interest or hobby so you can share ideas. Businesses can benefit from social media by advertising their business on a page. It allows businesses to showcase all of the products they have to offer. Social media also caters to those who may be looking to buy, sell, or trade items in their local community. Many local groups are formed that allow people to sell their things or look for things to buy they may need. Social media has become the easiest way to stay in touch with your friends and family and share memories. The disadvantages of social media are that not all information you find on these sites are reliable or credible depending on the source, and it is difficult to trust everything you see or read. Another disadvantage is that it can become time-consuming, and many people can find themselves spending much more time on the...
...methods and assumptions are applicable to human behaviour.
Natural scientists do not inquire into the meanings and purposes of matter for the obvious reason of their absence. Thus if heat, an external stimulus, is applied to matter, that matter will react but positivist approach to human behaviour applies a similar approach that people react to external stimuli and their behaviour can be explained in terms of this reaction for example they enter into marriage and produce children in response to the demands of society; society requires such behaviour for its survival and its members simply respond to this requirement.
Positivism discredits any perspective that seeks to explore factors that are not directly observable, for example meanings and feelings. For example, if the majority of adult members of society enter into marriage and produce children, these factors can be observed and quantified. Therefore they form reliable data. However, the range of meanings that members of society give to these activities, their purposes for marriage and procreation, are not directly observable. One person may believe they entered marriage because of loneliness another because they were in love and a third because it was the thing to do and the fourth one because they wish to produce an offspring. Reliance on this type of data for explanation assumes that individuals know the reasons for marriage and this can obscure the real cause...
...multicultural society can be defined as a society or group of people from various backgrounds and ethics. In determining whether a multicultural society has more advantages or disadvantages, both sides of the argument need to be examined. These arguments include tolerance and respect and cultural exchange.
In any multicultural society, the degree of tolerance and respect plays an important role in dtermining whether a muticultural society is an advantage or otherwise. The presence of tolerance in a society amongst members of different backgrounds and ethics can ensure a stable political situation as well as a stable economy, as members of the society do not merely respect each other but also value peace amongst themselves. This enables the society itself to cultivate friendship amongst members of different cultures and helps the country grow and prosper. However, no society is perfect in addition there is the temptation of greed and selfishness. The lack of tolerance within a multicultural society undeniably brings disadvantages to society. The differnces in culture amongst members of the society are among the main reasons why many wars commence. Society becomes oppressed or even rebellious in an effort to `claim back' the rights which...
The advantages of having a diverse organization
The world’s increasing globalization requires more interaction among people from diverse cultures, beliefs, and backgrounds than ever before. People no longer live and work in an insular marketplace; they are now part of a worldwide economy with competition coming from nearly every continent. For this reason, all organizations need diversity to become more creative and open to change. Maximizing and capitalizing on workplace diversity has become an important issue for management today. That’s the reason that I chose this topic to talk about below.
Diversity is generally defined as acknowledging, understanding, accepting, valuing, and celebrating differences among people with respect to age, class, ethnicity, gender, physical and mental ability, race, sexual orientation, spiritual practice, and public assistance status (Esty, 1995)
Workplace diversity refers to the variety of differences between people in an organization. That sounds simple, but diversity encompasses race, gender, ethnic group, age, personality, cognitive style, tenure, organizational function, education, background and more. Diversity not only involves how people perceive themselves, but how they perceive others. Those perceptions affect their interactions.
Successful organizations recognize the need for immediate action and are ready and willing to spend resources on managing diversity in the workplace now....
