This House believes that the war on terror has become a war on Islam Debates revolved around the question “war on terror has become a war on Islam” and there were two groups of two speakers. One is “for” side - Anas Altikriti, founder and former president of the Muslim Association of Britain and Mustapha Ceric, grand Mufti of Bosnia. And group “against”- Feisal Abdul Rauf, author of the book What's Right with Islam with Ramzi Khoury, a former editor of the Arab Daily. I really liked structure of the debates. Comparing with previous debates “women should choose husbands by their own” every argument was clear and every point of view was understandable. Opponents spoke respectfully, politely, didn’t disturb each other so debate was available and easy to percieve. Anas Altikriti was for the motion. His speaks about three things that lead to this war: ideology, discourse and practice and said that there’s no doubt that the war on the terror turned to the war on Islam. His opposer was Feisal Abdul who came from New York. His argument is that terrorism is polygamy and can appear in different forms: we have two types of religion: one was taught by prophet Muhammad and second is the Khawarij. First bases on Quran and says that prophet Muhammad was send to be a mercy to humankind, not a terrorizer of humanity. And second created a taqfir which identified anyone who had another point of view as being unbelievers and created a political philosophy that justified murdering fellow Muslims including their innocent wives and children. Second speaker of “for” side is grand mufti of Bosnia, Mustapha Ceric. He gave 5 facts that prove his point of view: Muslims are half of the world population but have no constant positon in the Security Council of the United Nations what is necessary to be an enemy to Western countries. The second, Muslims have no veto power in the question of war or peace in the world, but still...
...Parliamentary form of government is better
Good morning sir chairperson and members of jury. Friends, I want to ask if a man designated to wind a clock at 12 noon everyday does not do his job, is the clock to be changed or the man to be fired? What will change by switching to a presidential system? Corruption gone------ bureaucracy efficiency incarnate, ----------every MP and MLA a beacon of integrity, ---- no more caste, crime, violence? ----------Nothing will change, -----the same rats will make new holes in a new almirah, ------yes, sir, the same rats will make new holes. This is not about changing the rules of the game, but playing the game better. We need better people in politics, we need better politics.
The presidential system is quite flawed and is not suitable for a country like India --- which is the second most populous country----------and whose diversity ---------in terms of language, culture and religion ---------is immense. It has many demerits like: ------it encourages a 2-party system which may not represent the interests of all Indians. --------Voters would vote for a party based on the personality of the presidential candidate and not--------- on the ideology, -------President may be from one party, but the government may be from another party with a completely different ideology, which can lead to policy paralysis--------- if there is a clash of views.
I want to ask my friends are they not aware that in India, Dalits have been in...
In-DepthAnalysis: Best Buy (BBY, AMZN, WMT, BKS, BGP)
Best Buy (NYSE: BBY[FREE Stock Trend Analysis]) reported fourth quarter and full year earnings yesterday and failed to meet analysts' expectations. Best Buy reported revenue of $16.26 billion in the fourth quarter compared to $16.55 billion in the same period a year ago, or a decrease of 1.8%. Net income decreased by 16.4% from $779 million to $651 million. Thus, earnings per share fell from $1.82 to $1.62.This decrease largely reflects Best Buy's decision to spend $222 million in restructuring charges to focus its international efforts and drive supply chain efficiencies.
Excluding restructuring charges, earnings per share rose for the quarter to $1.98 which beat analyst estimates. Nonetheless, Best Buy's stock price showed that investors were less than thrilled with the earnings news. Best Buy's share price fell 5.4% on the release of the earnings information.
Best Buy struggled domestically: revenue fell 4% versus the prior-year period. Most notably, there was double-digit decline in sales of entertainment hardware and software and TVs. Consumer demand for new television technologies was not a significant revenue-generator. Where the domestic segment declined, it was offset by the 4% increase in the international segment. This increase is mostly due to new store openings and a favorable fluctuation in currency exchange rates during this time.

...Values and Traits of Filipino Films
Philippine Cinema has unique values and traits. Don Jose as the Father of Filipino Films labeled the Filipino films as quality content and has a commercial appeal among movie goers. Many of the films created by Don Jose Nepomuceno were received the approval of the box office and win the heart of film critics. Nepomuceno has a mind-set in every movie that he will create that a content of a movie should have the combination of artwork and crass commercialism (Quirino, 1983).
Nepomuceno did not know that he will become a master of film creation here in the Philippine Cinema. Nepomuceno studied fine arts in his college degree and after finishing that course he continued studying electrical engineering. He is also a business minded person at the very young age because of the influence of his family and they have their own business stalls. The combination of his technicality with his background in electrical engineering and the artistic mind of Don Jose as he had a background in his fine arts degree led him to his popularity and became a successful director in Philippine Cinema. He’s mind as business person also helped him to create movies that will approve the movie-goer’s choice as the competition from other films especially Hollywood films were tough at that time. He survived his movies as compare to other Filipino filmmakers to remain on the circulation (Qurino, 1983).
On the study conducted by Nicanor Tiongson, she mentioned in...

The Alexandria chamber of commerce was formed in 1906 to assure business standards, to work toward better business conditions and to serve as an active voice in framing public policies affecting the business community. Its mission is to ensure a climate that grows and strengthens business in Alexandria. It is a founding member of the newly organized United States chamber of commerce. In addition, the Alexandria chamber of commerce focuses on promoting American businesses both in the United States and overseas. The department gathers economic and demographic data to measure the wellbeing of the economy, promotes US exports, enforces international trade agreements, and regulates the export of sensitive goods and technologies, patents and trademarks (alexchamber.com).
A view of audience and stakeholders shows that a stakeholder is a person or a group who has interest in a given situation, and who is an active player (Stuart, B.et-al, 2007). In essence, stakeholders are individuals or entities that have an interest in an organization. The role of stakeholders with the Alexandria chamber of commerce is trade facilitation. ...Meteorology: an In-DepthAnalysis
All of us have experienced a snow day when school gets shut down or a rainy day when some of our plans have to be cancelled. Even if the weather is nice outside and there is a change of plans to go to the beach instead, everybody has in some way been affected by the weather. However, meteorology has made it possible for hundreds of millions of people around the world to prepare for and/or schedule their plans, events, or vacations around inclement weather. However, there are people who do not fully realize the importance or understand the meaning of meteorology. Meteorology is commonly misunderstood and thought of as being the study of meteors and asteroids in outer space when in fact it is the scientific study of the atmosphere; it has had great historical impact and includes many purpose-specific fields but is used mainly for weather forecasting.
The practice of weather forecasting has been around for hundreds of years. “Although systematic weather data recording began about the fourteenth century, the lack of weather measuring instruments made only visual observations possible at that time.”(Galambosi 2534).. From the thermometer in 1600 to the cloud classification system introduced in 1805, meteorology has evolved into a more scientific and precise study over the centuries. Today meteorologists use the latest technology and expertise for weather forecasting. This includes meteorological satellites that...
This paper will provide a broad analysis of the movie "Crash", and yet a specific
picture of visual narrative techniques and audio techniques. The categories contributing to the nucleus and major movie components are theatrical elements, cinematography, editing, and sound. The Academy Award winning movie Crash is a story about society's controversial subjects projected in an "in your face" depiction of lives that in some way or another, cross.
DepthAnalysis of the Movie "Crash"
The over-all theme of the film is racism, which is dealt with honestly, brutally, and without justification. This 2006 release from Emmy award-winning writer/producer
Paul Haggis is focused around two unsettling car accidents, a disturbing carjacking, vicious unprovoked workplace vandalism, and the suspicious killing of one police officer by another. The R rated, post 911 drama and action movie is staged against the backdrop of a racist Los Angeles justice system and Los Angles Police Department (Haggis, 2005).
The storyline begins in medias res with the event of the title, a front to rear crash
on Mulholland Drive. The movie then starts over, backtracking 48 hours explaining how
everyone arrived at that crash site. According to Jean-Luc Goddard, "A story should
have a beginning, middle, and an end...but not necessarily in that order."
Several life stories intertwine in the following 36 hours involving a collection of
